Im making a mod and obviously want to have my own models in there. I have modelled a pistol and want this to be used in the game, but am unsure of how to do the animation etc. I know how to animate it as in move the arms and gun etc etc, but i dont know how to set it all up and that.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any good tutorials that are easy to follow on this subject. Have seen some and they are pretty vague.

Also do you know if you can use the original animations for new models and if so how? again, any tutorials?

thanks

I have no experience whatsoever of modelling but I am slightly sure that you can replace models with prebuilt animations in them already.

You can certainly use the original animations. I suggest you look at The Wavelength, I think they have some modelling tutorials.

You certainly can use the animation of a default weapon. I assume you use milkshape, so search on there website for a tutorial on a smd export and compiling. It should help you on the road.

And for skinning, i think he already did that, otherwise he first would need to uvmap it.

It takes a lot of time and patience to re-create everymove of a muscle, it helps for me to draw out the animation by using my own arm.
