Get the Compilation Controller V.1.4, because if you can't compile your maps, then your pretty screwed. People are'nt going to always compile your maps, do you realize how long that would take? You can't just pull of a final compile in one compile. So I suggest getting the above program off of snarkpit.com... ;) Goodluck

You're gonna have to compile your maps sooner or later, it mightaswell be sooner. What exactly is the problem? Will you post your compile window?

Well unless you installed HL2 to the directory C:hl then that is wrong. It should be $SteamUserDirhalf-life 2 where SteamuserDir is your steam username. That should be in the Program filesValve directory. And you shouldn't have your maps in My Documents either. They should be in sourcesdk_contenthl2mapsrc directory. It's interesting that you're having trouble, my Hammer 4 was automatically setup!

I'd strongly suggest you go to "reset configuration" in the SDK launcher. That compile process is... empty. You didn't play with any settings randomly, did you? :P

Software Development Kit. It's on your Steam Games menu? It's probably what you use to launch Hammer.
