I consider this a legitimate suggestion.

The link to the left takes you to #twhl, a room obviously reserved for mapping talk. There IS another channel called #twhlregs.

The site designers, in my opinion, should change that link to go to the regs room, and info should be put in the subject of that

"If anyone has mapping questions, we would like it if you join #twhl and ask your questions in there"

I believe this would save a lot of headaches.

Also you may want to put in THAT room's subject that occupants may not answer due to mapping or other activity.

Well Atom is pretty much non-existant around here, he does work behind the scenes occasionally.

But it takes a while to get anything new or fixed that requires Atom level access.

I think it is fine as it is anyway, it is pretty obvious people have lives outside of IRC, so I think having that message is pointless.

And when someones asks a Q in #twhlregs, people will normally tell you to ask it in #twhl anway, so it doesn't matter.

Yeah. Maybe a message pointing out that IRC is slower and lazier than the IM world many people may be used to would be an idea. Not gunna point people straight to #twhlregs, though, that's exactly what I didn't set it up for :|.

That's fine 7th - but a hint about the main room being for mapping only and about a possible delay in response would be good.

BTW - a public apology to Trapt is in order, doubt he will accept it.

I'm sure he will. I meant the slowness when I said "slower and lazier"? #twhlregs is often just as silent, even with loads of people around. It's how IRC is.

Back in the golden days, #twhl was used for spam AND mapping talk.
Seeing as how that didn't work sometimes, when people asked questions, SM opened #twhlregs.

Now, #twhl is still indended for mapping while #twhlregs is intended for the people at twhl who don't wanna talk mapping. The #twhl link on teh site is made for people looking for rather instant help.
It's fine as it is. If people are directed to #twhlregs first they'll just be confused.

Yeah. Besides, #twhlregs appears in the topic.

It doesnt appear here. WHich is my point. People who enter that channel by following the link, Anthony, often don't realize that #twhl is reserved for mapping questions. That's the reason for this post. But hey, whatever.

I accept it. Thankyou very much. :)

I think a seperate link'd do some good. As in 'IRC for Mapping questions' and 'IRC Chat' or something.
