Could you elaborate the situation at all?

I managed to get a funny error with CS:S yesterday, t'was something like "Too many vertices (32784>32768) . . . tell a programmer" :).

You shouldn't have to reinstall it. Just restart Steam a few times and run HL2 and it's mods.

Yet another Steam-caused error that would never have happened if Valve just stuck with beautiful WON...

Get over it man. :P

Steam is fine.

Yeah, but you have to agree? Surely?

I don't, no. I think as a means of making sure that every player of VALVe's games gets the updates as well as making MP relatively simple, Steam is a decent option. It's the first of its kind: you'd have to expect that there would be some bugs considering the extremely wide scope of PC setups and the like.

Would you finally stop whining about steam? Jeezz...

@ Half-Lifer:

You can validate your Half-Life 2 cache files by clicking one of these links:

Half-Life 2: steam://validate/220

Counter-Strike: Source: steam://validate/240

If you can't click it, copy and paste into your browser.
From my experience with that error, i can tell you this'll fix it.

rel_beta? Oh dear. p4clients too? Boo, Intel fanboy!

Half-lifer ain't even told us what program he got that in yet. Could be in a Steam-related proggy, possibly caused by Steam and such a program running simultaneously.
