I read about this thing in Computer Buyer and dled it and the only thing I can say is:
It's fuckin amazing!!
It has a 3D engine that can spy on ANY location on the globe! :o
It's like flying over it!

Their site

It's 45mb big, but believe me - it's worth downloading!
I could make out the location of my house thru it :D

Some sort of Google Earth?
I heard about something called "NASA Blue Marble" on TV today, must be something like that too.

Downloaded, it's quite good.
Its obviously American orientated though, zoom in on England you get shitty low res pictures, zoom in on USA, you can see cars!

Bloody NASA! I want to see my house!

Google earth is, in my humble opinion, alot better.

Mainly because it doesn't have NASA in its name.
Posted 18 years ago2005-10-14 19:00:05 UTC Post #141551
So agreed! NASA spouts out bullshit on a daily basis. "OMG LOL NO DATS NO A CHEMTRAIL DATS JUST A LENZ REFLEKSHON LOL!!!!!!!!".
m0p m0pIllogical.

it took me a full 5 mins to read that m0p

The same ammount of time it took them to make that excuse :sarcastic:

No no, they are too impatient to spend 5 minutes working on a stupid excuse, they prefer to just cough out as many poorly spelt words as possible in 10 seconds.

Keyhole and Google Earth are, in my opinion, far better.
Posted 18 years ago2005-10-15 02:30:32 UTC Post #141571
Whats the difference between this and Google Earth?
Posted 18 years ago2005-10-15 05:01:19 UTC Post #141579
Lol.. It's not US orientated..
It just needs an internet conncetion, so that it could refresh the pictures to hi-res.. When you zoom in it will refresh the pics and make it all clear... If I could make out my house in Ltu, so can you in your country.. :

The database of satillite photos is a compilation of several sources. This is why you get different qualities and resolutions for each region. If you live in the middle of nowhere chances are you won't be able to see your house or even the immediate area around it. However if you live near a landmark or large city etc. then you can probably get a pretty decent view of your house. My house in the U.S. was pretty easy to find and the resolution was superb. When I looked for my house here in Germany I could barely even make out the town I live near. So as you can see it all depends on your location.

In the help section it says you can see your house including cars clearly but elsewhere is not displayed...
