i love BF2 but i can only play the demo at my house because my graphics card, although relatively good, is not supported in the full game

Argh. When the demo was released I was addicted to it. Luckily I managed to get rid off it.

Hey, I have a problem with BF2.
I have just installed it again and installed Gamespy because I thought it would make life easier to join games etc.
I downloaded the 1.12 patch, patched BF2.
Now I join a game, and I can't move my mouse from the centre of the screen, I can see other stuff happening behind the choose your class screen, like tanks moving, helicopters flying past etc. but I can't move my mouse for some reason.
It keeps saying 'There is a problem with your connection' everytime and I have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete to get out of BF2.
I'm not sure what I have done, I uninstalled and reinstalled because it was doing this, I thought it would help but it seems to just have wasted a large amount of time.

Had that same problem once in HlDM. Try closing your firewall(if you have one) and don't run heavy programs at the same time.(my brother ran Emule when I got that error) :

Sounds like good advice. It's probably something stealing focus from BF2, but Windows isn't minimizing BF2 and letting you see what it is. If you're then getting connection problems, it could be the firewall. Plus you said it's when you patched ? which would get most software firewalls jumpy.
Definitely suspect the firewall. Are you behind a router?

Hmm, it appears I don't have a fire wall on atm anyway.
I went to control pannel etc. security centre and fire wall is off.
I shall try playing without anything else running though.

Do. I kill a ridiculous amount of stuff when I play... like, everything, pretty much. I leave Apache and the Windows Audio service.

I jsut tried, and it did nothign different.

Well all I can suggest is trying on someone else's PC, a friend perhaps and seeing if his non-router PC works.

BF2 is still unusable.
Anyone else have any ideas?

I dunno, I'm not very computery, it just looked to be the odd one out as all the others are in lower case.

Meh, the air battles are crap, i can pull so much G's in a single split s that it would rip my and my plane apart in a split second, how closer up i fire the rockets how more accurate they are, yeah right. And the stalling is absolutely crap, planes dont stall only on the z axis, the 109 rolled to its right when approaching the stall, all planes have different stall charteristics, hell, you cant even overpull them
