This map is roughly 20% complete, my first map, with 4 attempts and restarts on it, the outside will be larger when Iam done, CT spawn outside, hostage map. (hostages not yet implemented) Just run around and look around for leaks gaps or errors you might see, Ive done it about 30 times and its starting to blend on me. Thanks for the help. Hope to have it finished in a week or so, also please note, this is my first map EVER,no lights have been made into fixtures, they just float, no sky is made.. etc.

I rate my own! it sucks right now! too many things left undone and inaccurate with the real BigLots store! ok now that i gave it a comment maybe others will follow. *fyi itll be a hostage map and another were its slightly modified for a bombing map, there are I believe 5 breaking items that arent vents.

It's far from complete, and it's difficult to give it an accurate rating at this time. Put in more stuff and we'll provide more input.

The texturing, however, can be improved already. The color is too monotone (everything is gray). I suggest the lighting to be somewhat dimmer too.

Judging by the pic, it looks as if the light has no source. Put in some models.

Of course Anthony he said it is 20% done and he even admitted not putting source lights in!

Anyway I like cause it reminds me of a Spongebob Squarepants episode :)

Lighting is much too strong, and needs a bit of colour, maybe some green, blue or yellow. Maybe even red. Room needs stuff in it if it's that big.

alright sorry Iam late, I moved in real life and DSL was a P(#@#$! to get back up and running, Iam re compiling now, and going to re submit it with the few changes I have made (note some things are being remodled and arent done yet, I had to leave abruptly to move on Thur, just got everything back up today, a week later) AND ill include biglotsF.wad (wich you all will need for the new version.)

shouldnt be! i only used my biglotsF.wad in the Hammer... if your missing something.. then *^93. My comp crashed and I had to format and reload, Iam in crap as it is, I dont have its RMF to keep working on it.

If mods want to scrap this whole topic/post/download, I wont be (too) upset. Looks like I have to find a decompiler.. or work on a 3 hour out dated .rmf, or start all over... so... yea.... sucks to be me. On another note.. Ill make sure I just use my custom .wad so there will be less to track down.

Trust me, I'm not missing anything.

Decompiling won't really help you 'cause of the way it works--transforms all the brushes into something that won't compile--, so you're gonna have to rebrush the whole thing anyway. Which shouldn't be too bad, considering from the screenie it doesn't look so complex.

I would advise going into hammer options and removing any unecessary wads before making your next map.

I went in and quickly gathered wads I would need, ripped them apart, and now have my own wad set up. (prevents random people acessing my map for now) I have found an old bsp and worked hard core on it to re establish a fraction of what I had in mind, no probs so far, just a load of reworking. and the screenie is OLD lol i took it in base trial on it and havnt done a new screen yet. I need some help, if you can, IM me, the tutorials dont cover what I need. also i need a city sky theme..

You could use the .tga files from cs_assault for your citycaped sky, or just make your own. It's really easy and doesn't take long.
