Made this just to re-familiarize myself with hammer after a long vacation from mapping. Wanted to do a fy_map for ease of creation, and I tried to include everything that fy_maps usually lack like cubemaps, soundscapes, ambience, a skybox, textures and talent.

Not very well optimized because it was a learning experience more than anything, and is not for older rigs.

Please let me know what you think, I'm eager to get started on something better!

I'm rating it 4 stars for a first posted map on twhl.

Visuals: Hey, this is a rather interesting place to fight actually! I really have the feeling that I'm in an arena. And that is completed by the well done 3D-skybox. The architecture was quite random, blocky and, may I say, a bit messy. Altough you made some nice variety there by placing some water ponds, those square type of lines are bit in excess.

Sound: Not much to comment here, it's admirable you didn't forget to include some background sound for the atmosphere.

Gameplay: I actually played this map 5vs5 with bots. The gameplay is quite unexpected, probably because of this random architecture.

So yeah, it's quite entertaining for about 10 minutes, after which I'd prefer a map change :).

Thumbs up for the 3D-skybox and atmosphere.

Yeah the layout was constructed in a really odd way. Looked absolutely nothing like start at finish. Amateur mistake, but hey, I'm an amateur. :)

If I were to do layout changes, it would hands down take place in the areas to the left of spawns. Honestly I think mid is pretty fun for a bit, too. Although after dev I'm sick of playing it with bots. Not exactly the brightest lot.

Chatty, though.
