This is a program intended to make launching Half-Life deathmatch sessions a lot more convenient. It is able show an image preview of maps*, displays a description of the map**, configure server settings easier than through the game UI or configure server settings through an advanced form that allows full control, and lastly (the reason I made this) you can create a map cycle quicker and easier than ever before.

In theory, through the advanced server setup page you can use this program for a lot more than just Half-Life deathmatch games by having full control of even what .exe is launched.

Please give feedback on this site or email me at jacob.frashure@gmail.com with the subject "Lambda Loader Feedback". Would be accepting of name changes too lol. This program is not finished, but is in a final enough state that I want to share it with others and hopefully others may find it useful. The advanced server settings is something I have bigger plans for but is going to take just as much time to program as the entirety of the project up to this point and I can't dedicate another month to just programming this project.

How to run.
1: Download LambdaLoader.exe
OPTIONAL: Download the Extras.zip if you would like to try image previews and if you have matching maps they will appear
2: Run LambdaLoader.exe
  • This works by checking the folder where your maps are for a .jpg that shares the same name as the .bsp. Pretty much no maps come with an picture preview so you can manually place .jpgs in the folder or install my pack that has just over 440 map previews. Download the Extras.zip file too and have it in the same folder as the .exe. When you run the program it will auto extract the zip file to your map folder. Extras.zip is about 68MBs when extracted.
** Many maps include a .txt file with them, this program can display the text file.
