This is another of my old maps. Yet another cs_assault remake. Made in 2004 on request of several friends of an "improved cs_assault". Back then, assault remakes were the big thing so I just jumped on the idea without a second thought.
My friends' requests were:
being able to shut the curtain gate at the front of the warehouse
being able to turn off the lights in said warehouse
being able to access the brown building
I also provided:
Extensive multiplayer support: up to 90 vs 90 players. Now that I know better, I'd REALLY not like to see all 180 players joining a server at once.
A few free weapons in a "secret" room
A new and improved truck parked at CT spawn point (at the time I used to think that truck was ?ber 1337 <3)
(minimal) access to the gray building next to CT spawn
A slightly more extense duct network to navigate the warehouse.
Built much later than de_dracula, you can see the vast improvement in mapping quality, although it's still far from my current skill. It took me about 3 months to get it done. Plus about half an hour earlier today.
I'd like to add that it was made completely from scratch, no decompilers were used. I didn't know such thing existed back then. So this took countless hours of counting windows in the original cs_assault, to make the new one correctly proportioned. Still, I took a little creative licence and made a few "improvements" of my own. That includes "borrowing" a few textures from maps cs_robbery and de_volare (probably the trees, I don't remember)
Right before uploading it, I made a few performance optimisations (such as func_walling detail and the like) but except that, the map is exactly as I conceived it back then. It includes all the original poorly-executed ideas, wrong use of entities and lack of detail in all its 2004 glory.
Seeing it's flooded with poorly executed half-baked ideas and some off-grid brushes, I started considering to remake this remake someday. Someday. I'd like to. But I'm not sure I'll have the time.
As a purely anecdotal comment, this time it only took over 12 minutes to compile. Back in 2004, it took nearly 4 hours. Don't ask what kind of computer I had back then.
So, to close it up, I hope you enjoy it! Just try not to let 180 players in at once.
I would love to see a map-from-base compo with this map, and everyone showing their own, perfect version of cs_assault. =P
5 stars for thoughtful detailing and a nice, from-scratch reproduction of my most favouritest cs map from back in the day.

Always loved cs_assault, and her remakes, but this takes the cake. Everything from being able to turn the power off to the vent system is outstanding. Can I put this into my server with your permission when my friend gets his router fixed?
@TheCSguy: Sure you can! That's what it was made for. Let me know when you get it online, maybe I'll join the server one day
