2013 Christmas gift to DISCOSTU

"Secret Kleiner's Lab Escape"

Made by The_(c)Striker, from TWHL.info mapping community!
Extract to:
Steam -> steamapps -> common -> Half-Life 2 -> ep2

Then open the console in-game and type "map discostu_from_striker".
I might have used textures from episode 1, if you see missing textures it's because of this.

I hope you'll enjoy the little action!
Made between 24th-29th December 2013.

Enjoy!

IMPORTANT NOTE! There should be a logical order to the puzzle elements and events happening in the map. I tried as much as I could to guide the player on the right course. Due to the little time involved, if you are too adventurous you might not experience the whole map. I am sorry for this. You can replay it :).

Difficult map. Kind of unfair with the walkway being instant death even though the deadly gas doesn't entirely touch it in crouching distance.

Same for the instant death from the gas at the pipe.

I apologize for that annoying feat, but I couldn't conceive a more "friendly" path blocker in such a short time frame. The project should have been much bigger anyway, I made a lot of cuts.
The gas pipe seems unrealistic, I know. I just forgot to configure the env_steam :)).

Umm, why the hell are there stripey lazers in the sky and a missing texture?
Other than that, FUCKING AWESOME!! I never expected anything, my dad and sister helped my through the map. THIS WAS AWESOME! I envy you and the other mappers.. This was sooo awesome.. TwT
Adds The_(c)Striker to his rolemodel list

A F'ing 5 stars! Screw the missing textures and glitchy water.

Thanks for the map and the christmas greetings! It took me a few days to play it but I finally did.

Very good map, considering the short timeframe it was conceived in. I experienced a number of odd glitches that I assume were due to EP1 not being installed too.

The good:
Good spatial arrangement for a small map
Interesting puzzle + combat combination
Clever solution to the exit... thing. Not spoiling.
The bad:
Some missing textures if you don't have EP1 too
Pretty damn obscure puzzle elements including surprise dying
Surprise enemies, pretty hard difficulty when they all come at you at the same time
Not so good player space control (see below)
The both good and bad that balances out:
I managed to parkour all over the place and solve the first part of the puzzle in a nonstandard way. But I still had to do all of it in order to get to the exit.

Had same bugs as Ghost129er,but overall I really enjoyed it...I liked the action in it,the bonus crossbow which I found pretty late, and the final puzzle...that took me like forever and last but not least, the explosion. One bug I noticed was when you got in water, the "shores" were null textured and you could see through them...All in all,I think it's a great map considering the time in which it was built and the puzzle+combat :)
