Great story idea, nice setting, work on displacement, manipulation etc.. to get the terrain more realistic,more jagged, try some better trees, really twisted/ craggy trees would work well.

here's a crazy idea, use some organic texturing, like Xen or something, have some floating sprites etc... make it like the inside of a persons arteries, veins etc... like in Fantastic Voyage http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060397/ ...

glad to see maps still for HL1, my system is crap and I don't have money to buy a new one right now. will try later but from the screenshot the textures look very well aligned, the lighting in the corridor is effective, i won't complain about the blandness of the textures, textures on the bench look a little odd, bench is blocky maybe you can refine that or try using a prefab bench.
