I've been replaying Fallout 3 recently, so when I read "Happy Administrative Professionals Day" I just kept thinking "ALL HAIL THE OVERSEER".

I think I'm playing it too much.

Anyway, happy admin day.

You open up with a sexist statement and then claim to not be a sexist?

Look, no ones asking you to be a saint. I've said plenty of nasty things, including sexist stuff, and I'm willing to bet every person on this website and everywhere else has done the same. The main difference between making a mistake and just being obnoxious is recognizing that you said or did something wrong.

All I and Collapse are saying is that generalization sucks. Thats all.

P.S if you want to respond please PM me as journal threads are virtually impossible for me to keep up with :).

"They really are though"

If you met a guy that was like your wife, would you say it was like talking to a different species or a different person?

"38_98 , I just don't understand some of them."

So you make a sweeping generalization labeling all women for the actions of a few? If the tables were turned on you would you consider it far to be labeled such? Thats the point I'm getting at.

It sucks hearing about your backfire though.

Theres always a few bad apples in every tree. I've heard the same "he/she lead me on" complaint from both genders.

Also, I always find it weird the way people talk about women as if they're a separate species/things. It's like your talking about aliens, its all really freakish. As well as the whole "emotional" business. Guys got 'em too, your just taught to hide it.

Yeah, Lori's character is an idiot.

As for the horde from Atlanta, I rewatched the intro and I think your right, although it does leave me wondering how this horde could somehow bypass the environmental obstacles (like swampy terrain as you pointed out) when no others couldn't.
Commented 12 years ago2012-03-19 20:15:04 UTC in journal: #7691 Comment #51422
Yes, I know it loosely follows the comic. What exactly does Rick being supposedly dead have to do with Lori apologising to Shane? And how exactly does being there for Lori when Rick wasn't excuse the attempted rape at the CDC? How does she simply forget that? And yeah, the writers have made her character into a complete idiot.

Killing a full grown man who tried to kill them and admits to being a part of a group that raped others who knows the whereabouts of your Farm? Seems like a foregone decision to me. But apparently that wife of yours you so desperately tried to find when you got out of the hospital? Rick was dumb there, you gotta admit.

The walker only really makes a go for it when he actually hits him with stuff, not when he sees him. Walkers need no provocation to go after prey, so why does he only then free himself when he gets hit?

They showed no Cattle around till the episode when it suddenly became relevant, which oddly has not been found by any walkers.

What makes you think the horde is from Atlanta? They found a horde on the highway remember? There are multiple groups, and we know there are walkers in the forest and nearby town. Guns aren't quiet, so why isn't it that at least 1 walker, probably a dozen, did not stumble onto a farm filled with cattle and humans?

"Are u sure that really happend or was that the old guy's perception of what happened?! do i need to rewatch some episodes or what?"

If I remember correctly, Shane uses his last bullet to shoot Otis in the leg, immobilising him and making him easy prey for the walkers chasing them. So yes, he did kill him, and it was shown during their escape.

Yeah, I would've preferred that they kept Otis' death hidden. Shane suddenly reappearing without Otis back at the Farm would've made for a much more interesting story.

The development of the characters at the farm has been particularly good either. It seemed a little clunky at parts. Daryl's sudden change from group rogue to saint-determined-to-save-Sophia was clumsily handled. And many of the other character developments had little impact on the group as a whole, or even individually. Shane and Lori have another falling out? Surprise. Oh look, they even rehash the same bloody points they did back in season 1. And these are to name just a few.

The whole season, since they got to the Farm, has gone from good, to bad, to boring.

It's not so much the fact that it's worse as it is the fact the, when you think they can't get any lower, they manage to blow away all expectations by sinking lower yet again.

I have the console version, so I expected there to be some texture problems (such is the fate of playing a high-end game on a console nearing the end of its life) but to be honest, its been fine for me. Just some slow load times for textures, nothing serious.

I remember Final Fantasy X. I still have it when my a family friend gave me his unused PS2 and FF10 game. Best RPG I've ever played, with the possible exception of Dragon Age: Origins. The story really was the best part though, with all its twists and turns. The ending in particular was very gripping. Without a doubt the best in the series, in my personal opinion.

FF12 was also a great game, but its story, whilst really entertaining, was a far cry from the more epic tales from the other games in the series. Still, it was really enjoyable, with a number of fun twists.
