Really? I didn't expect it to be like this. My first and probably only time having a crush was in 6th grade. And guess how that turned out. I acted as if she and I were soulmates. No wonder she hated me.
I guess I've become more of an adult as years passed by, so I'm a better person now. Haha, I'm glad I've changed. It turns out that there really is someone better than my crush in 6th grade. Much better.

So, there's this girl in my class. She's really nice and cute, plays CS:GO, and lives in the town where I went to elementary school (I'm just 0.5 kilometres away).
For some reason, now I'm really feeling interested in CS:GO.
You can't see it so well, but you could notice that the car's front part is heavily damaged. XD
By the way, I started learning some QuArK. For someone who is used to Hammer-style mapping, it isn't too bad! Because of the many options, I'm thinking that QuArK is like the Linux of map editors (kind of, haha).

As I said, I won't bother you people with this specific part of my personal things. I consider it pointless because I don't see the problem. I might even make some of you worry over nothing. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Case closed.
Now, let's switch the topic.
So, I watched a video about dividing polynomials (got an exam tomorrow) and I came to a conclusion: Maths is so much easier when explained slower and in steps. The teacher in my school explains it well, but he rushes constantly. x3

The problem is, I'm stubborn and too lazy to change (thanks to my Montenegrin origins). Once I like an idea of mine, I'll hardly let go. Of course, there are exceptions, sometimes.
By the way, why would you care? I'm just another kid who will fail in life anyway, so there is no point in giving me advice. Or is it?

I think that he made it up. Also, I had one of my dreams come true.
I had a dream where I met a Bosnian, which I first met on a furry Discord server. And it came true the next day. I actually met him! :3 We go to the same high school, so...

"reasonable price" Nah. In my country, there's no such thing.
One of the reasons I'll build my new PC is to do some stuff in CryEngine (don't ask, I know that it crashes!). Other than that, it will be great for compiling maps. For that price, there's no laptop in my country that has the same power.
My 2007 laptop, however, can also do stuff in CryEngine, but CryEngine 1. xD

Because it costs too much. If I wanted the power of a GTX 1050 + Ryzen 5 1400 PC in a laptop, I'd have to pay so, so much. There.
On the other hand, I simply don't need that power when I'm going somewhere. Because I'm carrying it somewhere, using its portability, just to do something that doesn't require much power. And when I'm doing something that needs power, I don't need to carry it!

Of course I'm proud, because it managed to stay alive that long.
In the near future, I'll consider upgrading the RAM (maybe a new HDD as well) and applying new thermal paste (because the processor gets really hot on idle). I can't do it now because of high school and the fact that my options are limited to buying stuff only from my country.
Also, one of my friends has a desktop PC from 2005. Haha, think about that for a second. And he would play Forgotten Hope 2 (BF2 mod) and Mount & Blade: Warband on it. Now, he has a GTX 1060 + Ryzen 5 1500X PC. What a powerful beast.
@Urby Meh, I'll not get a new one. I'm going to get a new PC by the end of this year, so that's already a big expense. Getting a new laptop isn't neccessary.
I mean, if I want power, I don't need portability. If I need portability (e.g. when going to school, or to my grandparents etc.), I don't need power!

Yeah, but we don't use euros here... We use KM, short for "konvertibilna marka". Around 2 KM = 1€. Lol. Now imagine a 1600 euro PC in Bosnia. Not only 3200KM, but even more than that! XD

1600 euros is not cheap in my opinion. For me, 600 euros is between expensive and acceptable. Only less than 300 or 200 is cheap, according to my standards. xD

Isn't it "NineTnine"? xd Also, it (playing the game to unlock stuff rather than playing the game itself) is is pretty much the reason why I don't want to be in modern online gaming.

I remember that I once played on a Bosnian CS 1.6 server. And guess what... 120 deaths, 30 kills. That's around 135 rounds (sometimes I'd kill and survive, sometimes I'd not kill and survive, sometimes I'd just die etc.).
Half of the players on that server were cheaters! Aimbot and wallhack.
The server had the lowest ping on the list and I thought "Oh, excellent, I'll finally not be that lagger who has a sky-high latency!".
But the server was populated with cheaters. I'm sure because I was spectating them for a while and it totally showed that they were cheaters.
That's what ultimately told me to back off, and this is the exact reason why I don't play multiplayer games, I just test my maps and stuff in them.
If I ever map for CS:GO, I'll never buy a skin, never play competitive or any multiplayer at all (unless it's a playtest of one of my maps, who knows). 2012 CS:GO was good, now it's something I'll try to avoid for one part.
I'll have to say, though:
This chicken with a sweater is so funny. XD
The map, however, reminds me of when I first tried CS:GO on my laptop. It was that exact map, Vertigo, and I had 4fps in it. Lol, worse than Crysis's 6.5fps. So yeah, I won't get to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive mapping soon...

Though, on one hand, starting to work on a big project I couldn't complete gave me a handful of experience. It was a period of 6 months, I believe.
If you'd compare my first few maps on GameBanana (before my period of inactivity) to the ones after I returned from modding, there should be quite a few improvements.
So, I think that starting big mods very early is partially good, because of the knowledge and experience which you gain. You return, better and more experienced than before.

Wow, that's really nice. Lots of funny moments going to happen, I'm sure.
This reminds me of the countless hours when my brother (who was 5 at the time) and I played CS 1.6 and Sven Co-op. It's unfortunate that he avoids them these days. :/

One, small update: Having had my first German class today, I can safely say that I've made a good choice. On just one class, I learned more of German than I would learn in Turkish on 5 classes of Turkish. Not only that, but German sounds prettier i.m.o. and it's easier.
@Snehk For some reason, even though I am fully aware of that, I still have that middle-age crisis every year. Interesting.
@Rimrook Thank you.
However: "learn a practical trade like cooking or plumbing"
I'm one of those guys in the class who always learn (or try to learn) everything perfectly, so I don't really have time for anything else.
Besides, practical class is, in a way, learning a practical trade (we'll be doing electronic circuits, using and constructing various equipment etc.). Hihihihi.

You just need more opinions and something which will attract those who give opinions. Not finishing a map is a shame if the map has good potential.
You've mentioned that you wanted to make a successful map, eh? Here's what I did with de_kobbl:
1. Submitted a WiP at GameBanana, mid-development, and got a few hundred views on it 2. Submitted a beta-test thread at GameBanana and got a bunch of people 3. Spent a month or two testing the map with my testers and improved the map even more 4. Released the map and pushed out some smaller updates
But just as important, I posted screenshots in the "Post your screenshots!" thread at TWHL. Fellow TWHL'ers here gave me their opinions and that's one of those things which kept me going. Of course, that was somewhere mid-development. And I did the same thing with ts_untergrund, 4Way, and so on...
Opinions can tell you what's wrong and what's good in the map. You'll be more certain and you'll know what to do next.
Of course, that's just one of the things which you should do to keep yourself motivated. And, obviously, you need to know how to accept opinions and critiques. But for now, work on the map, show screenshots later when you've got more to show.
Lastly, listen to some music, but don't get lost in it.
Edit: While I'm at opinions, I don't have an opinion yet. At such an early development phase, opinions don't need to be given.
I didn't expect it to be like this. My first and probably only time having a crush was in 6th grade. And guess how that turned out. I acted as if she and I were soulmates. No wonder she hated me.

Except this time, I actually like where it's going, despite them not fully understanding me. I'm making quite some progress.
Good luck with Russian. It's a fun language to learn.

Sort of reminds me of my Far Cry mod, where I split my development phases into:
- Technical
- Design
- Polish (the verb, nothing to do with Poland, lol)
- Promote
- Prepare & Release
(I still work on its assets from time to time)But isn't design also a part of development?
