So you are an actual professional! I only took one class in my freshman year, so I'm hardly an expert. Still, I recognize some great skill there, and going the places you go, you get a lot of good opportunities. I think you should do some, time permitting, of course. Don't want to keep you away from your GoldSRC wizardry.

Have you considered professional photography? Every now and then you post a picture of someplace and they're always so goddamn beautiful. It's a bit of time, sure, but you could probably make a lot of money in photography with those skills. If you don't already, that is.
This idea is cool, yes. I would participate if I actually really knew Hammer, but I barely know how to use it at all. I still don't even know how to create stuff like triggers. Basically, all I know is very simple brushwork and entities.

I really enjoyed reading this, Erty. I hope the move goes well for you. As someone who's been moving nearly nonstop all my life, I get how stressful it can be, and then the unpacking... But I also know that once it settles down, it can be really satisfying.
As for your writing multiple journals this week, I perfectly understand that, seeing as right before your first journal were my first journals in a nice streak of their own. Writing can definitely be a really helpful way to try and cope with stress. Just know that every time someone posts a journal like this, there's always some expectation that it's unwanted or unappreciated, and that's never actually the case. All you have to see to know that is the replies to, well actually, basically any of jamie's journals. I enjoy reading these kinds of things because it makes it feel like there's more than a chunk of Wikipedia behind all the usernames. Getting to read the real stuff helps remind me that yall are real people, which can be frighteningly easy to forget at times. Just remember, we all can relate.

You are officially not my friend anymore.
What are you, 11? If someone insults you, you threaten to not hang out with them?
It's sick how you guys protect yourselves and your incredibly conservative/unimaginative concepts.
If we're making a map for a contest, we make it for the contest. If the map isn't good, we just don't win. And yeah, Deathmatch maps are in general pretty boring. But that's because we've all seen them before. To someone new, this map is a frickin masterpiece. I know, because I showed the map to someone new, and they thought it was a frickin masterpiece.
It's like hurray 5/5, you've made another gray poop. You're so focused on masterbating on you maps' visual features that you miss how deadly boring and static they are.
So what? Just about anything we can make is going to be boring because there's little left that hasn't been done. All we CAN do at this point is try and improve the visual style. Dude, stop being overly critical and maybe appreciate what I'm sure was quite a lot of work for Jessie.

Make sure to fix the view bobbing and the crowbar. The crowbar was actually underpowered for the 2001 rerelease. It used to one-shot headcrabs, but it doesn't anymore.
I like everything except the shotgun. The rack on top gives it a massive difference between the V model and the p model. I also don't really like the reload animation, the way Gordon is holding the shells looks weird. You can't even see the shells. I do really like that we now have a detailed tip of the crowbar, though, I've been looking for that. The new sound for pulling the pin out of the grenade is really satisfying, and so is the new draw animation. Reminds me of the way he bounces it in Black Mesa. I also like how you have three different clips for the pistol, depending on if it's a partial or a full reload. Super good. My only suggestion would be to alter the shotgun model. Otherwise, good job.
