As you all know, the release of TWHL3 is imminent, so this will probably be my last Journal post on TWHL2. What a journey it's been on this version of the site though: I joined back in 2003 and for some bizarre reason, I'm still here. Never expected to still be here after so many years, particularly when so many of the older members I used to know gradually dropped off.

While TWHL's current state isn't exactly one of perfect, I'm hoping that the launch of TWHL3 will help. We have some nice changes planned that'll be helpful to everyone. Time for a fresh start basically: let's forget all the petty crap that defined the latter years of TWHL2. This is your chance to turn a good community into a great one.

TWHL3 will not be launching with its full feature set however. All the functionality of TWHL2 will be there however, in a completely refreshed form. Over the launch period, we'll be constantly adding stuff to the site, stuff we've had planned for a very long time. Of course, we're always up for taking suggestions as well. We've got a couple of things planned for the launch window as well, which should get things moving.

Anyhoo, thanks for everyone that's stuck around for this long: your patience has paid off! If you haven't already, make sure you join the Official Party Channel, #twhl3 on Gamesurge.

TWHL3 rolled over to 85% complete earlier today. I'm getting pretty excited at the prospect of releasing this puppy, as I'm hoping it'll really kickstart the community and bring new folks in. We're trying to launch with new content as well, and we shall also be refreshing as much of the old content as we can. In fact, most of the tutorials have been revised in one way or another, so yeah.

TWHL3 news! In case you don't know, TWHL3 is now EXACTLY 80% complete. Yep, 80%! We're on the homestretch folks. Penguinboy has taken a week off from programming the site, leaving me to finish up the rest of the stuff I have to design. TWHL3 will be here soon folks.

Speaking of TWHL3, the site will call for more staff. We have new positions opening on the site which will require knowledgeable folk to attend to.

Well, there certainly seems to have been a bit of turbulance around TWHL lately, but thankfully, it seems to have died down while we all get into the Christmas spirit. Good to see that we still have great members hanging around.

In other news: TWHL3 is progressing (we now have a brand new Map Vault, which means I'll be starting the design of the user profiles next). We also have a somewhat solid release window for it too, as TWHL3 has to be finished before PB and I go back to Uni (PB goes back in late February and I go back in March) so yes: it isn't far off!

I'm still working on Venetia for some reason, and I think it's coming along nicely. I've been pumping out new revisions to test on an almost daily basis and I thank everyone who has taken the time out to test it with me, it means a lot! :heart:

Oh, I also SLAUGHTERED Strider's ass last night in CS:S. DIALUP PREVAILS!
