Lets play a game.
Its called sentence; Here's how you play.
You form a sentence where each person adds a word to the previous persons sentence. So If i start with "The", the next person adds ONE WORD to the previous sentence. He/she would say "The Shotgun" and then someone else says "The Shotgun is"....
So you get the idea right?

Displacements just got 4000% easier <3
1) Use face normal mode when modifying displacements
2) Alt+Right-Click the face you would like to modify. The displacement axis maps perpendicular to the face
3) (I previously knew this but...) Holding Shift while moving a displacement vertex makes positioning your mesh much easier.

Cyber Monday Shopping:
I'm at work right now and want to upgrade my motherboard/processor. TWHL is not blocked, but every shopping site is so I can't do any research on my own.
If any of you guys know of any deals going on can you share?
They don't have to be a combo as i'm perfectly capable of assembling them myself I'm budgeting about $400 because i want this to be an upgrade that will last me a long long time.
Hopefully I don't need to worry about compatibility of my ram and videocard, they're both under a year old and I think they'll work with any modern MOBO.
I also have no preference of AMD over Intel..

I fractured both my heels Saturday.
My girlfriend got a new place near her university. Naturally I moved in. We threw a little party Saturday to celebrate being on our own. Sometime during the night, my girlfriend stated "I haven't been in the attic yet." Naturally we take that as an open invitation to go exploring. We find some trinkets left behind from the old owners; clothin, plates, plastic coconut-shaped bowling ball. At the end of the attic, there's a window. That window looks over the garage. Naturally, again, I climb out said window onto the roof of the garage.
I then decide its a great idea to jump off the roof while nobody is looking so I can run back inside and surprise them all.
I lept.
I stuck the landing.
Onto pavement.
Barefoot.
2 bilateral fractures of my calcanei.
Time to fully heal: 9-12 months.
Estimated time until I experience no pain: 3 months.
Estimated time I'll have to be on crutches: 1 month.

NASA landed the Curiosity Rover today on mars.
Apparently google knew about it as well.
Anyway.
The landing was successful, images will be coming in as the instruments are being tested. The rover wont move for a few weeks however.

So there are two things i'd like to share with the peoples of TWHL.
One being the coolest 8 minutes on youtube.
A HD video camera strapped to the solid rocket boosters of the Space Shuttle.
The second being a personal dream.
On April 18th, my band, Positive Chaos, gets to share the stage with Fair to Midland. Their biggest song is probably Dance of the Manatee.
These guys have been in my top 3 favorite bands since i can remember.
I can NOT wait to meet and play with these guys.

Checked woot today. They're selling a basic HP computer with a dual core AMD processor in it. I didn't buy but i checked the benchmarks.
Turns out a $350 basic starter machine has a better processor than my 'gaming rig' (dubbed "The Beast")
