It's a good thing Fallout 3 is an awesome game. In my haste to wipe my system clean of all the nasty viruses that had swallowed my Windows folder, I seem to have cleansed myself of the the progress I had made out in the wasteland.

There were a few other titles I have inadvertently erased but Fallout 3 was the biggest one in terms of hours played.

I'll have to reinstall it at some point and get started again. I also decided to give Far Cry 2 another try, see if I can actually finish it this time. I've put 9 hours in so far. Man its fucking boring. Even the multiplayer. Thats a bad sign right there.

I miss GoldSource mapping

Far Cry. Pfft.

Fallout 3. Win. I've been playing it again for the past 3 days and it's still a blast. I decided to be more of a shish-kebab wielding, laser firing scientist and it's super fun.

I finished the first DLC and it was a bit boring. Just action all the way through. At least you get over powered weapons and armour at the end. No one can touch me now!

I tried installing a mod to make dogmear wear goggles and a Vault 101 suit but it turns out if you install the game in Program Files then it causes problems. Meh.

I tell you what pissed me off though. The alien crash event. It's random, utter random and if you're unlucky...It'll crash when you're in a place full of wreckage so the gun can get stuck on water towers and then there's the ammo. It falls EVERYWHERE and it's rare D:

Very annoying.

That's happened to me twice. Each time I've had to load my last save and hope it happens in a better place next time.

My gun landed in the river, had to fish it out. I do wish the alien crash event was more impressive. I less needed the gun than I wanted to see the crash.

I finished fallout 3 with 2 different characters and havent touched it since, maybe I'll try it out a bit again.

Oh and poor dogmeat, I told him to "find weapons" while out in the wasteland, he ran off into the horizon, and I finished the remaining 30 hours on that character without him ever coming back.

I found Dogmeat after about 72 hours of play. He died about 3 hours later. killed by raiders... NOOOOOOOOOOO...not dogmeat, DIE YOU BASTARDS!!

*Promptly takes off raiders heads with Railway Rifle

I found Dogmeat within a few hours of starting, although he's never really been of much use. May be because of the glitch that means if I ask him to look for stuff, upon exiting the 'conversation', he'll immediately start a new one, and the only way I can exit it is to tell him to stop looking. D:
