I'm in the process of making a model using Ambient.Impact's scientist source files. I'm removing the pen and pencil, the nametags, and adding new textures, but I'm not sure whether I want the tie or not. It's beautifully animated, but it probably won't fit so well in a 'town urban' setting.

Which looks better to you considering the setting?
Also, I've made a barney model for the same setting. Say hello to police officer barney;

He also has an alternate 357 model for spirit usage.

Why would I do that? So Hgrunts can blast me down?
EDIT: I'm not really a modeler anyway. I can hack things together and delete stuff, but not create new meshes.

Import textures into a new wad in Wally and you won't get that frankenstien thing. There's other ways, but that's a quick and easy way.

No, that's because of the pallette of the original texture and how it was aligned on the barney model. Slick does not make a good barney replacement.

Still waiting for opinions on the ties.

no tie, and replace the shirt with something less... formal. more casual.
i'd also consider replacing the barney body is making him a police officer. never seen a cop with a kevlar vest on the outside of his clothes.

You've also never seen a cop in the same situation that my next project is about, either.
also, what do you suggest for the shirt? I can't really do much outside a simple reskin...

The vest isn't actually so bad, but you could make it blue or something so it blends in with his outfit better. I've always thought Barney looked like he dropped right out of Starship Troopers into Black Mesa. His outfit is almost too sci-fi for his role.

The scientist should definitely be left tie-less, though I disagree that the shirt looks too formal. I almost think he looks too casual and well-built considering his age, but I guess it works in a Clint Eastwood sort of way.
