Just finished seeing Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen, and I must say the movie was great! It was intense from the get go, so much happening at once. This sequel is definitely better than the first one, a lot more action that any movie of 2009 so far. I might have to go and see it again just to get everything in....

Seriously? Well, I'm not about to spoil your party.

I'm supposed to see it in IMAX tomorrow. I have a feeling it's going to be a waste of my money.

Not actually sure if that's REALLY a movie but, I thought it fit.

The movie is just a full-length advertisement for the toys.

I ain't going to pay money to watch a long commercial.

Exactly how I felt about the first one, Satchmo. Judging by the trailers this one is probably no different.

I will go on the record and say that this movie's story plot is not exactly "Oscar material", far from it. You have to approach this movie for what it really is, a mindless special effects driven extravaganza for one to enjoy with the kids. It's a live action bang & smash cartoon, that's all it is. A true popcorn flick to watch with little kids and together experience the "ooohs & aghs".

I'm actually agreeing with Tito here (eep).

I'm always surprised that people are so critical of the Transformers movie. It was made for one purpose - for fun. Nothing else.

Loud, proud & stupid are words I would definately use to describe it, but that's what makes it so awesome. You just shut your brain off and have a blast.

You can always go back to watching more thought-provoking films later.

My brother saw it yesterday and he said it wasn't as good as the first one but it was still decent. Regardless I won't be watching it, its not my type of movie.

I'll be watching it. Friday i think.

I saw it. Almost left the cinema early.

Ten minutes of effortlessly bad plot stretched over TWO. AND. A. HALF. HOURS.
Watch the first major battle scene and you've watched the whole movie. No, really.

Only slightly redeemed by tits and occasionally funny dialogue.

Ok, so you're disappointed at the lack of story and the fact that it's comprised mostly of action, Huntey?

What exactly did you expect? D:

After taking four of my nieces ages 5 through 9 to go watch Transformers 2, I headed over to Toys R Us and got each one a......you guessed it,...a Transformers! Yep, about $90 spent in toys for my sister's kids. After this, I better not hear them say uncle Tito don't ever treat them to anything....

I saw it yesterday, and it was awesome! Not exactly a cinematic masterpiece, but I really don't care because it was extremely entertaining :D

Explosions, Megan Fox, fast cars, Transformers, a lot of random jokes and ze doctor with ze german accent. The end battle filled me with glee.

... there's probably a twelve year old inside me fighting to get out.
  • "I'm gonna go get you a tighter shirt!"
  • "There is none."

There are so many good movies out there, it's impossible to watch them all.

How do people find time for bad movies?

Has everyone seen "Up"? Now, that's a good movie.

You know, Transformers 2 was released world wide at the same time, which is something Hollywood does not normally do often. I think they should always release the movies this way, that way websites with an international membership like TWHL will be able to have their members comment right away about the movie regardless from what country they are from. It sucks whenever a good movie that I am waiting to see comes out in theaters in the U.S., and then afterwards a week later at where I live here in Puerto Rico. I hear Europe and Australia get the movies even later than that!

Up was a good movie satch, you're right! I can't believe there was blood in a pixar film though..

And tito, you're right. Everyone should get it at the same time!

but i do know console games use different formats for outside USA i think.
Commented 15 years ago2009-06-25 15:36:39 UTC Comment #59530
Yes, I did see Up, it was very good, typical greatness from Pixar. I might even buy the DVD when it comes out.

I don't go to the cinemas enough.

Well I doubt this movie can be anywhere near as bad as 1998's Godzilla. I'm all for mindless fun, but lemme tell you, after just sitting through that I can say there was absolutely nothing fun about it.
Commented 15 years ago2009-06-26 04:23:59 UTC Comment #59506
Godzilla was hilarious, but then again, so are all of Emmerich's films. There's nothing fun or crazy about them, just ridiculous destruction and disasters that stand out like sore thumbs against the bleak, boring worlds they destroy.

Visually impressive though... usually. I enjoy seeing the White House demolished a different way each time. >_>
Commented 15 years ago2009-06-26 07:58:19 UTC Comment #59531
The White House has been demolished pretty good on a few disaster movies for years now. The latest White House smashing has a giant wave throwing an aircraft carrier right on top of it in the upcoming movie "2012".

Which is by Emmerich. :P

wish i could agreee with you tito, but transformers 2 was easily the most pointlessly-bad movie i've seen at the theater all summer, probably all year. (i left halfway through)

I could right a whole, long rant about why it was so bad, but that wouldn't change the fact that this movie was still made, and people are still wasting their money to watch it. So i'll try and keep it short:

i was wholly disappointed how this transformers bears almost zero continuity to the original tv show--not like the first one really did either--, and what they do manage is done horribly. None of the original concepts or plot devices that made the original series interesting and fun are utilized, for a second time. To me, the movie comes off as a commercial for GMs shitty, styleless cars; an orgy of pointless, haphazard cgi, where the robots all look shittily the same; and some really bad, stupid comic relief thrown in: the robot with the gold tooth that talks like jar jar binks and says he "he doesn't read much" ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?! IT'S JAR JAR BINKS FOR THE TRANSFORMERS! GTFO!

oh and one last thing: whoever wrote the movie should go out to the gun store, buy a gun, and shoot themselves in the face.

Oh shit, wait a second....

Yeah, i'll totally see it, but i'm not expecting too much outta that either..
