Got my wisdom teeth taken out today. Feels like they've been replaced with golf balls.

This shit is hardcore.

Ha!, welcome to the club. I myself had 3 wisdom teeth taken out over the years. I also had 4 root canals done on other teeth or molars.

Damn. Only tooth I ever got taken out was one of my baby front teeth. (I have dental problems due to a couple accidents, don't ask)
I remember the needle hurt. I also remember the actual pulling hurt, meaning the needle didn't do it's job.

Thank god I don't have problems with my teeth.

I know numerous people that have had their wisdom teeth removed lately, I can tell it's no fun... I also know that sooner or later mine are getting pulled too... D=

My wisdom teeth came in fine. and that was..some amount of years ago. Hopefully they don't need to be pulled.

Oh yeah, I remember when mine were taken out. The golf balls are probably just gauze to stop the bleeding.

It'll be really strange-feeling when you're feeling better and you feel the back of the mouth with your toungue. There's going to be massive holes behind your last molar :)

Jeff&Striker: You'll probably have to. The vast majority of people have to lose their wisdom teeth.
A lot of people make it out to be worse than it is, like most surgery I suppose. You aren't conscious during the actual procedure, and you're severely drugged up for the hours after.

This does not instill confidence.

6? I didn't even know that was possible.

The last two are supposedly much smaller, and in 5 or 10 years I have to go back so he can "pop" them out.

I haven't ever needed anything major done with my teeth... yet.

There's really not all that much pain, it's just really uncomfortable having a big swollen jaw and not being able to open your mouth properly.

The whole golf balls scenario is not guaze at all. It's just my gums being really swollen which is kind of expected considering the trauma they've experienced.

For the record you can only have 4 wisdom teeth, if you need more than that removed they're removing other molars.

Oh man, I've had 2 molars out already. My wisdom teeth are coming through very bloody slowly.

I need my wisdom teeth removed as well. Not looking forward to it.

You are mistaken. You can have more than 4 wisdom teeth as well as the normal amount of molars. Just call me the shark.

Sorry, I'm not so good at english, by "wisdom teeth" are you referring to the last teeth that have to come out ?

You are correct sir.

I stand corrected, you can in fact have more than 4 wisdom teeth. That's when the real problems start though. D:

Oh boy, now I know why my gums hurt sometimes.
Commented 14 years ago2009-12-06 12:39:58 UTC Comment #40146
My wizzies came in and pushed the rest of my teeth forward and fucked everything up. I had em removed.. I didn't get knocked out, i was just on anesthesia and NO2. I was just like. "Oh yay! they're drilling into my teeth now! Woah that was a loud crack! Hey they're pulling bits and pieces of my teeth out now."
Well it affects some people more than others. And personally, i was bedridden for a week playing super smash brothers brawl. I was on vicodin and couldn't eat anything for about 6 days. I lived off Jello, Applesauce, and Carnation Instant Breakfasts (Kinda like a daily multivitamin inside a chocolate milkshake)

Yeah. And due to the wisdom teeth messing up my entire mouth, i now have braces until april.

Get well soon trapt.

Hardcore, man.

Bedridden for a week? That's rough, I was up and about the very next day.

Yeah well, because they drilled instead of pulled, i had open sores in my mouth for a week. Went through a quarter-pound bag of gauze, and i drooled a mix of blood and saliva through my sleep.
Ruined my favorite (favourite for you easterners and aussies) pillow.

I would be devastated if I lost my favorite pillow. My deepest sympathies Tetsuo. I was also conscious during the operation. They told me to bring my ipod so I had that on the whole time. I lived off soup, milkshakes and counter strike for the rest of the week.

Mine came in sideways so they had to cut into my jawbone, and then snap them into pieces to get them out. Fortunately, I was sedated and on morphine for the procedure. Would have been excruciatingly painful otherwise - Novocaine doesn't work too well on me. I can still feel where parts of my jawbone are missing. And yes, you drool lots of blood.
