So I have been debating this for a long time now and decided to ask the world what they think.

What do you call a device that moves matter from one location to another by deconstructing it, moving it, and putting it back together at the end.

Would you call it a Transporter or a Teleporter?

Btw, I'm on twitter now.

Technically, to transport you don't deconstruct. You only transport - or move from A to B. I'd go for teleporter.

Did you happen to build one and don't know what to name it? :P

My vote goes to TELEport.
It's what I've been calling it my whole life :)

Teleporter = Something that breaks down particles and sends them through air to another location.

Transporter = Jason Statham.

I'll go for teleporter.

Teleporter. Unless it's a ring with shimmering blue matter in it when it's active, then that's a Stargate. :P

Transporter, since that's what the Star Trek franchise uses.

Solved, you're welcome....
