Guys, he stated previously that it's tax deductible. So while he doesn't need one, it means he pays less taxes, so he's actually SAVING money doing it.

Cool. You can probably donate your current system to one less fortunate fellow from TWHL ;).
I suggest you get a bluray drive instead of a dvd one. And you forgot an HDD(correct me if I'm wrong, I didn't see one), as SSDs are used more as boot-drives...

I intentionally left out a traditional HDD. I plan to get the 120 GB SDD now and buy another SDD in six months. Magnetic HDD is obsolete technology, and I don't see any reason to stuff my new build with old parts.
I did not get the i7-950 because it requires a 1366 motherboard, which boosts the cost even more. The 1156 mobos afford me much more options when it comes to selecting a CPU. The motherboard I picked up supports both SATA 3 and USB 3, and SATA 3 is crucial because I do not have a traditional HDD.
My current rig was built in 2008. It has been almost three years since my last build.
Sorry to disappoint you guys, but my brother will probably get my old rig when I build the new one. He has a PC that he bought circa 2002.

I thought buying from a custom building company would actually be cheaper, since they buy in bulk. But it's not the case.

Magnetic HDD's are not obsolete, and will not be in the near future. Find me an SSD that would have 2TB of space and not cost a fortune. Magnetic discs are used for data storage, this you should already be aware of. And currently there's nothing better in the market for the job.
I went with a TB hard drive with a pretty decent RPM.. Oh.. and for 10 more bucks you can get an "Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor BX80601950"
I have the same PSU. It's nice.
You only need to upgrade every 4-5 years.
On a side note, you planning to get rid of the old parts?
