I want to make some beef steak in my microwave oven, but I am a bit confused.
I know I should never place a metal object in the microwave if I don't use the grill option.
But the instruction manual provided with the oven says that I have to cook the steak on the metal grill that comes with the oven in 2 parts:
1. 36% MW - 64% Grill for 6-7 minutes
2. Only grill 5-6 minutes
And also, at the beginning it states that the grill should never be used in microwave mode.
Isn't this dangerous ?
I put the grill anyway. Nothing happened. It's probably designed for this. If the manual stated so then it's probably not wrong.
But yeah, I'm kinda disgusted that anyone would microwave a steak. That's just wrong in every way imaginable.
There's nothing like the scent of slow-roasted meat.
I say it even if I'm not a big fan of meat.
That's not to say microwaves are bad. Its fast and suitable for most things, just not meat or breads.
It actually tastes good. It's delicious and moist! :))
I've also read that cooking in a microwave reduces the risk of eating carcinogenic elements that form when cooking the traditional way.
Now I've also read that vitamin B-12(a vitamin that is involved in neurological processes) is mostly lost.
I don't know... each methods come with pros and cons. I don't think microwaveing is bad. In my case the meat was cooked by the oven heaters, and only 36% microwave power for the first 4 minutes.
Don't microwave steaks.
Just...don't.
Maybe it's because Penguinboy and I come from the land of bbq and grill. The idea of microwaving a steak is, frankly, disgusting.
Are you saying that the same compartment that is used for the microwave also has an electric grill attachment?
