Has anybody from here heard about BitTorrent Sync? If you use it, how well does it perform?
If not, what is your favorite file-syncing app(not necessarily cloud)?

I use Dropbox but I'm looking for alternatives.

Ive heard its ok, the negative hype comes from the fact that its bittorrent.
I don't use anything right now apart from copy paste, but if i did it would probably be ftp mapped folders and something like Synkron or Unison, maybe even rsync depends if i need it.

I've had it for quite a while now. I initially thought it was better because it was more secure, but I can't say I've had much of a chance to test it. I intended it to send photos from my phone straight into my computer, but the Android app doesn't seem to work well. Or maybe it's my phone, I don't know. So I haven't used it much. It definitely seemed interesting.

I like the wi-fi transfer for android.
You sign into a website that acts as a file browser for your phone. Then you can just drag and drop onto your computer.
It's not so much a sync application, but at least you don't need to plug it in.
