It's been 10 years today since I first joined TWHL - holy crap this site has been around for a while.
Thanks for all the fun times folks, I probably wouldn't have gotten into modding & game dev without the support of an awesome, inclusive community. Looking back at the old posts it feels like we've all grown up together in a way.
I'm not around much anymore, but I will always consider TWHL a huge part of what helped land my dream profession, as well as helped me grow as a person. And also graduated me from a total n00b to a 1337 mod h4x0r.
Here's to the new members getting more good out of this!
P.S.: Spent 10 mins looking for the post-a-journal page. Thanks to Archie for pointing it out to me. Derps.
And yes the journal page is pretty well hidden. Perhaps the mythical TWHL4 will bring easier access.
I'm at over 10.5 years myself. It's weird how I'm constantly surprised by the passage of time when it's literally the most predictable thing in the universe.
On May 13th, The Phantom Menace will have come out closer to Return of the Jedi than to the present.
Happy anniversary man Where do you work now-a-days?
Also, from looking through other members profiles, Strider's 11th anniversary is tomorrow.
I wish I'd have discovered this site earlier since I'm a HL fan and player since its release date.
I'm on this site since 13th August 2013 (581 days ago exactly), so it's almost 2 years. And this is one of the best sites I've ever found on the web with the most quality and clever persons ever.
Thank you all!
Tetsu0: Finally got into games development after several long & tedious years in web/regular software development. Actually looking forward to work in the morning is a refreshing change.
AJ: Got the exact same feeling. Been there in fact (Archie, Botond, Livewire) - great times were had! One of my good friends from uni turned out to have grown up with Spag, we all ended up having a total TWHL/IRC nostalgiafest at that friend's wedding last year - it was awesome. Small world.
I can't imagine meeting TWHLers in RL, your meet-up had to be pretty surreal
