The competition is officially over. We got a grand total of 8 entries this time! (The last one had 7)
Penguinboy and I will try to get on these as soon as possible. Good luck!
(It's now 9 entries) -- Grim
I'm looking through/judging/writing up the compo stuffs now. Expect results 'late' later today if not early tomorrow.
Keep watch of your PM boxes should I have any problems -- Grim
Plus the rest. I just didn't have the inspiration to make anything.
Can't wait for the next compo though ( I mostly didn't participate because I don't like this "compo from a layout" and I didn't really had time either)
EDIT: Damn, WC's is source... I just remembered that.
Sorry i didnt have time to make the directions clear and fix the bugs, but i guess it is what it is. I'm proud of the progress i made just in the last 5 days of the compo.
If you wish to play the completed version, keep your eyes on the map in the vault. I'm going to link to another build of the map.
@ Striker - "I hope Tetsu0 is gonna win :D"
XD Thanks for the good wishes! Makes me feel pretty good to release a map people actually enjoy!
@ Moab - The judges have made a habit of giving a short little review to all the entrants! I'm sure you'll get one.
Neither sound pleasant. D:
It's when you... have your organs forcfully removed out your ass... Yeah... :/
Rest assured that we haven't forgotten about you guys but Grim is busy starting uni and I'm busy finishing it. I might see if I can employ Sir Daubster to do the write-ups.
If you haven't even looked at the entries, then turning it over to someone else could only help speed things up.
A month and a half of being swamped with studies should also be a month and a half to realize that it's time to hand judgment over to someone who has more free time.
And just type it up?

COMPO! COMPO!
just repeat that for n period of time to the tune of badgerbadgerbadger
Wolololo!
... +1
Wow, you guys are quick to judge!
Don't worry, we'll try to stop this from happening again. For now just be patient and wait until Daub and Grim have the time to write up the results.
Grammar, potatis, grammar.
Is that correct grammar? Shouldn't a sentence contain at least one verb?
The shortest complete sentence in the English language.
Fun fact.
Say it in Romanji.

LETz DOO EET LADz!
Wow, we must have been bored. =]
I'd like another new shiny sticker to replace my aged one.
NEWS POST KARAOKE!
But wait, does that mean mods can make others post?
This is getting old. Lets go to Daubster's Jun 19th news post and get that to 100 as well.
As we're going to overhaul the competition system, what type of system would you like to see?
We have our own ideas where to start, but I want to hear what you guys think is an ideal system.
Aaaaand...
GO:
The problem with community voting, though, is that almost nobody will play all of the entries. Some entries might not get any plays at all.
I haven't thought about how practical this is, but it's what I came up with.
It's definitely a good idea to have the site staff judge entries, while at the same time giving the community the possibility to vote/review the maps as well.
The problem, as you stated, is practicality of such a method, although it could be done. We just must put an end to this practice of not posting the entries until the compo judges review them.
Each compo has two judges. There are some users who have judged other compos. Why not have two 'lead judges' who are responsible for judging and posting the results, and 'sub judges' who have access to downloading the compo maps and judging them themselves. If one of the 'lead judges' has difficulty judging the maps and/or doesn't have enough time to write full reviews on them, then they can pull reviews and opinions from the 'sub judges'.
The Compo Mod setup.
For future competitions, use a game_text entity to display the map's name and author for a few seconds at the beginning of the map. The significance of this is that all the maps would be lined up and be playable in one run in a single mod. The maps will be named entry01 to entry50. The plain name and number is in respect to a chain-command setup, essentially creating a "Next" or "Previous" key, or maybe just a next button... dunno. The template would be easy as pie to make, no worries there. Plus the pack could be downloaded, easily installed and ran assuring everyone gets a fair look. Simple and easy for judges and members to swiftly look through the maps. It's all about presentation.
If that sounds like its too much, just post a link to each of the maps and hope everyone properly installs them all and gives each one a look.
Don't have to take this seriously, just an off-idea.
This is news comment 1000?
WHERE'S MY COOKIES?!
50 entries? I don't think anyone needs to worry about that.

We got to 100 comments by wasting time. Lets see if we can get to 200 before they post results of the compo!
