The only thing i'm gonna say is point out a problem with the Theory of Evolution as it bothers me every time I think about it. So before creatures had eyes, we are assuming that over thousands of years they developed eyes. So did they plan this because they would have had this useless non-functional eyeball for hundreds of years as it developed...does that sound kinda far fetched to any of you??

Lol...yes, i've been otherwise occupied...but i am going ahead with this lol...i invented a new one:

Achievent: Messing With God

Description: Annoy the crap out of an Admin of a website or LAN party

(I actually deserve this one, I completely owned one of the Admins of the LAn party I went to at Gang Garrison 2. Lol, later on I had to register for an official CSS comp and when I said my user name, he screamed: "So YOU'RE HLIFEHOTDOG!!!!" :walter:

Sorry sir, but Evil Bill is no more.
Evil Bill, spent ten years patronizing world leaders. Before retiring to a world of philanthropy. I wonder who has the power now?

in Google to introduce new OS Post #269754
Well...I can't be stuffed formatting my hard-drive and replacing any OS...so i'm happy with Vista Ultimate...Google will not win this one...no offence but Google had a hand in the internet way back and it got a good hand before Microsoft did. Microsoft basically own the entire OS market...the other OS survive simply because they are more useful for some aspects like business and such...Microsoft will trash google (no offence)

Use the scaling tool--Alt-E--to "shrink" segments to the desired taper. (you can rotate
This is totally the tool you need...I just made a dome ceiling using an arch and then ALT-E the top....then i just copy, flip it upside-down so the edges map and repeat the process on the top side again...bit fiddly but possible

5 hour compiles ARE NOT fun.
Lol, I find 5 hour compiles fine...it's when they take 10 hours that I start hating them. And if I can rustle up some other stuff for it, do you want it???

Nice Rim...it's like the complete opposite of my map :walter:

And It's looking good Moab! :D

I'm doing more runs over my map, bit of decorating and trims. Also adding more destruction the overall appearance of the map as thats what it is. A castle partially destroyed by lava flows. It's coming along nicely. Might also add more towers for appearances sake. You won't actually be able to climb them but its just for looks but thats A big thing as i have to extend the skybox again to do it. And how does everyone feel about moving clouds?? Assuming of coarse I can figure out a way for them to have faded edges...

Even if someone did play it...they would be one of very few...servers would be few and far between if any good at all...there is no market for it. Maybe a few people will find it popular at small sized LANs but thats about it

well, we have parts done...mostly the introduction but right now ive started building the tram ride into Black Mesa...to start the storyline and hook it up to what we have got already...then we can release that as a real tech/storyline demo...the demo you are getting now is a tech demo mostly...

Umm...I'm gonna have trouble deciding which one to give you :P

EDIT: i don't have time to fix it up or anything...so i'll just check it at you and see what you can do with it :) good idea but...

EDIT: Haha...I found an old map of mine involving killing the player in a number of fun and amusing (if not thoughtless acts of violence) ways

EDIT: And I also found a map I forgot to compile :P yay...a map thats all done and ready to go...i'll compile it now

EDIT: I can't find much to give to you...but I've got something...hold on

EDIT FINAL: http://hlifehotdog.googlepages.com/block_hole.zip Do what you can with it...It's kinda open and no textures...sorry but its all I got that you can use :)

Chrome does block basic pop-ups, which is good enough for me, a little notification appears counting how many in the bottom right corner. Chrome does save passwords but it has three options. One to save password, one to not now and one to never ask again. Check your options. And I think (I didn't bother to check) Chrome uses items in the cache for web pages so you don't reload everything every time you change page in a site (I'm not sure if this is right, I just read something somewhere, please correct me if i'm wrong)

Good news! The fog effect is in perfect working order (thanks guys) and with the optimisation I did yesterday I reduced compile times down by 1 hour! So I'll do a bit more of that, otherwise it's all finished and will appear in the map vault in a few days. (although the map itself is 10.2mb alone :P might take a while)

Firefox annoys me...and Chrome's sleek appearance and genuine simplicity is good enough for me

EDIT: To clarify why, I find that Firefox tries to hard to to be everything it thinks you want. When in fact i'd rather have a simple browser that does nothing fancy and focuses on the task at hand, which is what 'I' want

You need to add -texdata 400000 to ALL compile options, that's what's causing the file read failure.

They do...I get a good impression on what they will look like but a full compile is needed to see if they match with the lighting conditions...So I only do a full compile at night...otherwise I will just guess with smaller compiles. And no, it doesn't look like source at all (speaking of which, I need to get into source mapping [WHEN STEAM WORKS!!! AARRHH!!])
