I got quite a lot of lag too in the beginning. Like most modpacks, I turned down the "fancy" settings and turned on the OpenGL support thing to limit what blocks are drawn. Draw distance is normal at least and I get minor or negligible amounts of lag. I had to do this with tekkit which was FAR MORE laggier with all of the pipes and machinery running all of the time.

And atom, turn on the teleporting thing.

I made a steel lumber axe with TREE SODOMIZING III! The land cleared near my place is for my farming and whatever. Don't steal it. Flying is mega easy to get so travelling is simple. Besides we should spread out a bit more anyway.

Use a chisel and use smooth marble with it.
I don't like the floor and I'm looking to change it. If you want the Marble, you can have it when I do that. I need a wooden floor.

EDIT: Why is no one playing? This modpack is so much fun!!!

After I took this screenshot after finishing the house, I played with furniture and realized I may have to expand a bit in the direction of those birch trees. I need the room already and I don't have much. This mod demands a lot of space I've noticed.

I played for 15 minutes and claimed a small plot near-ish to spawn in that pine forest. My inventory is already stuffed with flowers and seeds I want to plant. Something I noticed was something called "Chisel" which is another mod. It has a lot of decorative blocks and such which is nice. Also, it appears Microblocks made a come-back in this pack as well. I've got some serious building to do but I don't think equivalent exchange is in it. :(

I disagree with that yellow light. I thought first "What's going on here?" then my eye went to the yellow light part and thought "Go there perhaps?" so I find it to be rather effective aesthetic guidance.

Facebook allowing games to utilize their social network, sure. When I think Angry Birds, Bejewled, Candy Crush, etc, I don't directly associate them with Facebook. If they started directly funding and producing games then I will count them in the market for it. If they do, I terribly curious what they would do.

Technically no unless you count their merchandising.

Facebook stock is badly overvalued. That doesn't matter though since 1.6 billion in overvalued soft currency is a lot of partial ownership (probably not as much as some of the larger players), or if sold, a lot of money. For facebook right now it's $61.02 per stock. It's been trending up constantly for a long time and if the trends continue, it could double in the next 5 years to a projected 107 per stock. Even they sell their stocks (stupid move) next year, they would make $192 million. An investment like this could be a huge long term financial boost in the millions.

I seriously wish I had the money to get some facebook stock. Now would be the time to invest since we KNOW they have their hands on some new and innovative technology. Unless they sub-branch and make a offshoot tech company for their R&D. Then get stock in that instead.

A Sledge compo or Sledge jam would help pick out any remaining problems. Probably better done a bit later when things are fixed and there is an extensive list of features to use.

Also, PB have ever considered adding on another person to help develop Sledge?

I wonder how pro gaming will change the gaming industry. Just like when game development was becoming more accessible, everyone wanted to do it. Now that pro gaming is becoming popular, will it begin to saturate? Younger generations are incredibly impressionable and all that. I do hope it takes off, but I'm going to snicker every time I hear some kid talk about how he wants to be a big shot gamer like its some prestigious goal.

Hi Jaardsi!

Been working on Super Matt Jordan. Lately I got my licensing for the game, the ability to market to many app and game stores like Google Play, Facebook, Android, iPhone and iPad. Right now I'm getting upgrades to the engine like better physics handling, better dialog system, full gamepad and controller support, and multiplayer.

All WITHOUT kickstarter. XD

Hey quick question: Are certain textures like AAATRIGGER and stuff going to be rendered translucent like in source, but for goldsource?

I just thought of a feature that you add the texture name to a list and it renders translucent. Say if I made a custom water texture, I could add its name to this list and then I can work with see-through water, or glass, or whatever textures.

The whole Hide Null thing reminded me of that.

Or the SKY texture could be transparent or mostly invisible so you can see through it too the void-skybox. There's also, as mentioned previously, vis group out the sky brushes temporarily when working.

I guess being able to see the textures in there full glory is a plus. Especially if adjustments need to be made to the scaling or some other adjustment.

Speaking of setting up lighting...
For lighting entities, could some wire helpers be visible to help illustrate how powerful or how far the light will go? Especially with spot lights and environment lights if you could aim them. Similar to your transform gizmo on the previous page but made for lights. If I recall, I think Hammer 4 has a "point at" button. Would be a nice feature all around for GS too if the gizmo is too much.

It'd be nice to be able to setup the sun-lighting without having to guess a bunch of times and hope it matches the sun in the sky box.

basic skybox rendering makes sense IN A LEVEL EDITOR.
It sorta makes Hammer look like the UDK stuff. I think its good to also look impressive since it could be amongst the first of the new features people will notice. Say Yay for now and let's move on to something else if anyone has any ideas.

Without any sort of previewing, a skybox would be cosmetic and nearly pointless unless you just want to load up your sky just to get in the mood for mapping.

Feck i dunno.

EDIT: Wait aren't there some model viewers that can load skyboxes? isn't that even more pointless but yet somehow exists for some reason...

The gizmo or the thumbs up?

Because if you are talking about the 3D manipulation tools, please, allow me to impress upon you the severe mistake you have made. For years my conduct has been largely benign. And yet, without provocation, you have severed our détente and forced me to unleash upon you the vengeful flames of a thousand suns. You shall curse your mothers for the day of your birth. So, go now, go, and begin your life of fear, knowing that when you least expect it, the looming sword of Damocles will crash down upon you, cleaving you in twain and as you gaze upon the smoking wreckage that was once your life, you will regret the day you crossed the WRONG FISH!!
