But if you recompile with only -entsonly selected, you should'nt have to recontruct the world. And I don't think RipEnt allows you to add new entities... Plus I want to convert HL over to Spirit.
Hey guys, i'm looking to recreate Half-life in a way that has not been done so far... and it will only effect the gameplay.
I'm just not sure if it will work... heres my thought though.
I'm thinking about decompiling the HL1 maps, and only edit the entities used in the map, and then recompile the maps with '-onlyents' selected. This way I can add models, take away, and even add a entirely new gameplay, like bullet-time.. etc..
So what do you guys think? Would it be worth my time?

one thing about that.. the creation aspect of it. I think alot of users would be alt-tab'in and typing 'restart' in the console alot. So you can't really do an ingame tutorial on something that must be built outside the game... :

sep.. you could use sprites or an env_beam going from the ground up... up to you man...
Do a search for problems... if that doesn't work, the compile log should tell you what brush it is.. and do a search for brush...
indeed it is lots of fun, unfortunetly I'm never on the computer, and when I am, I'm busy doing stuff... which in turn causes me to go on and seek help.. mIRC is very helpful... the people that is. I had a computer desk.. then decided to mount it on the wall.
My bed is pretty much where the viewpoint of the camera is. Where two nice speakers are, which are hooked up to my satelite, and computer... So I lay down on my bed and map.. its actually very comfortable...

right on guys... The headcrab idea is very good.. I'll try combining them all...getting it tomorrow, so I need this done..one thing though, it will be high up on my neck... with the top of the skull going almost over my shoulder blades.. 
Perhaps a baby headcrab with legs extended on the forhead.. that way it would appear to be wrapped around my neck...

Well, I installed hammer, and it works fine, but as soon as I change the 3D window from wireframe, to textured if freezes up.. so its not just OpenGL screwed up.. Please, I need this fixed. Edit: Well, I got a picture of the texture rendering in Hammer..
I zoomed out till I couldn't see the block, changed the view, and then zoomed back in.. and this is what I got:

yep.. but thats irrelevant. Because anything OpenGL it freezes up, and control-alt-delete wont work.. indicating its not a program freezing up. So I have to hit the power switch. I really need this fixed. I have no idea what drivers I need.... and I'm pretty sure OpenGLs enabled.
