Google has been working on the browser for more than two years. So I don't think it's just a knee-jerk reaction to Microsoft's IE 8.

I won't be able to play because I am still working in the hospital. I just did a spinal tap on a baby.

Thanks. :P

I was just thinking about converting it into a Hidden map the other day.

But I think my mapping career is on hold, at least until I finish my second book.

How about playtesting de_detritus on the server? I would love to get some feedback on gameplay.

It's a small map suitable for less than eight players.

More than two million people evacuated, and not much happened.

I suspect if it happens a few more times, people would forget the lesson learned from Katrina and start to stay put with the next hurricane.

Google is announcing a new browser designed completely from scratch by Google today.

No download link is available at this time yet, but here is a "comic book" briefing the various features of this revolutionary browser.

We'll have to wait to see just how revolutionary it is.

I recommend starting out with mapping and then proceed to more advanced custom models and custom codes.

Making a mod is pretty complicated.

I was hoping that Gamingparents would get somewhere, but it never did.

I was playing on a server with a really good Hidden. That Hidden was a girl (by the sound of her voice).

I think she killed all of the IRIS members (all eight of us) repeatedly for seven or eight rounds in a row before someone was able to nail her.

I think the game is already well balanced, but the learning curve for playing the Hidden is more steep. Playing the IRIS team isn't any different from all othe shooting games, but it takes practice to become an agile Hidden.

I have never been team killed. In fact, I don't think anyone even injured me from friendly fires.

I had hit someone by accident twice, but I didn't kill the guy. I hit the Hidden at the same time, so I guess it was justified.

That guy would've died anyway if the Hidden was behind him. So in a way, I saved his life by shooting him.

I never use pigstick. I like to slash, pounce away, and slash, and pounce away, etc.

It takes a great deal of skill to use phys objects to kill. I've only done it once.

I have never used the pipe bombs either. Maybe it's because the IRIS guys I play with don't stay together in a group. So it's easier to slit their throats one by one.

There was this time.

...and this time.

But the most memorable moments occurred when I was playing CSS. I was the last man on the CT team, and I killed two T's guarding the bomb and defused the bomb before it blew up.

Another time, I played 1v1 on a pub CSS server with a guy with an AWP. He thought he was so cool. I circled around the map and PWNd him with a knife behind his back.

Has anyone played this HL2 mod?

It is the one game that has provided the most engrossing and terrifying PLAYER CREATED atmosphere I have ever seen.

Single player games can be creepy and tense with all their scripted events and monster closets, but this game allows for some truly insane mind games and psychological terrorising completely controlled by a player.

Imagine you are slowly making your way through a deserted office building with several squadmates, when suddenly a computer monitor just shatters. One of your squad mates freaks out and starts firing blindly in that direction, injuring you and some other teammates slightly. You proceed, then suddenly hear a scream from behind you and turn around just in time to see a teammate explode into pieces all over the floor.

This time you and your other teammate freak out and start shooting like crazy, but you're shooting at nothing.

You proceed a bit further, only to have the skull of another teammate come flying through the doorway at you. Once you breach the next room, you are greeted with the sight of the bodies of several more teammates hanging from the ceiling, swaying slightly.

Suddenly, the bodies start swaying more violently, first the one furthest from you, then one closer to you, then the one right in front of you, and then you're dead.

All of this can happen in a game of Hidden: Source, but NONE OF IT is scripted, and every detail of that is controlled by a (competent) Hidden player.

I have never had a more tense gaming experience than playing against a good hidden.

The first time you start playing on a large military team, you'll feel nice and safe and cozy in your big mob of burly men with guns, which makes the terror even more real when you slowly realise you're the last one left on your team (there's no kill icons like most source games, so the only way to know someone is dead is to see it happen/hear their scream/find their body).

Watch video.

ATI is now owned by AMD, which is a company dealing with great financial difficulties.

They just cut the majority of their R&D department.

I expect Intel to dominate in the future. ATI is just going to go down the drain with AMD.

Why can't you travel with a desktop? It's not as big as a washing machine or refrigerator. It's relatively portable.

Just buy two monitors, two sets of keyboard (which are really cheap), and two mice.

You don't need a quad-core processor. In fact, no gamer needs one at this point. Maybe in the future.

I think 2 GB is enough for now. DDR3 maybe a good idea, so you won't have to upgrade the entire mobo two years from now when you want to upgrade memory.

Unless you end up making hundreds of thousands of dollars from your mod, no one is going to worry about copyright issues.

But I think this mod would be better if you can make it into a first-person shooter rather than a third-person game.

The only games that I have ever cheated were FarCry and Quake 4.

I couldnt' get pass the helicopter boss in FarCry, and I couldn't survive the monster room where there's no health kit and tons of re-spawning monsters. I played Quake 4 on a hard level though, so it was especially difficult.

I played through HL1 and HL2 more than three times each without cheating. HL1 was definitely more challenging than HL2.
