Start the player off at the entrance and give the player a message that they've reached the end when they do.

Goldsrc doesn't translate straight to Source well. Even the best Goldsrc maps will look pretty bad in Source.

Dynamic wet surfaces are awesome and cheap to render. Water accumulates on surfaces over time, slides down surfaces, and even splashes on your gun.
Too bad it's nigh impossible to capture with a screenshot, but I can try!

Nah, mp_teamplay is already set to 0 per map change so admins don't have to disable it after playing a teamplay map.

They didn't really have to before. It's just that mp_teamplay was set on the teamplay map before now, so it would only take effect on the following map.

Potatis was nice enough to make a small plugin to predict when a teamplay map will come up and enable teamplay before the map change.

So now teamplay is automated unless the map is manually changed by an admin.
A note: you manually change to a teamplay map, you will still have to set mp_teamplay before you switch.

If the search doesn't end with supersledge, then I feel like I have to start guessing present-tense verbs that come to mind when reading user bios and comments. EG: Mapping, cooking, selling, driving, receiving, working...

None of these answers are sound to me at all.

Edit: Well then the answer is "fag", because Huntey is one for providing all of this useless information without any hint as to what I'm actually looking for the begin with.
Hell, the answer could be "website" for all I know. This all takes place on one, afterall.

Any present-tense verb that has anything to do with any of the 3 new users is a potential answer.
If the answer is "oil rig" then there's a lot of useless information that lead me astray.

The search seems to take you to supersledge, where it either ends or takes you back in circles to billybop, because his bio says he wants you to meet billybop.
If it stops there, I am inclined to either say the answer is "treasure hunting", because it's the only interest that isn't present tense, or send him a PM and wait for him to reply with another clue, because one of his interests is "receiving PMs".

None of these answers seem sound.

I must be overanalyzing this.
It's hard to answer when I don't know what kind of answer I'm looking for. Is it a word? A phrase? A question? A verb/noun? Because I have possible solutions that fit all of those criteria, and none of them are any more rational than the next.

Well, the ash option worked, but I guess I'll need a custom ash material because it was raining pink checkerboards.
I can just grab Episode 1's if I can't do anything else.

Edit: Snowfall works just fine, it's just a lot more subtle than I expected. A high density and bright color are needed for the snow to really be visible.

I'm having trouble getting snow in my HL2DM map.
I've got a large func_precipitation over the map. I know it works, because rain will fall if I tell it to.
"Snowfall" doesn't seem to work.

I'm recompiling with "ash" right now, but can someone tell me if HL2DM even supports ash or snow before my compile finishes?

No reason not to retain their original resolution, though. They are made to be used at a standard of 1/4 scale, after all.

Optimization through texture scaling can go suck a fat one if you're using Source materials, I say.

It's illegal if distributed because you're taking content from a commercial game and giving it away for free.

Some companies, like GSC Game World, have explicitly given the OK to use their games' content in other non-commercial projects, but Valve isn't one of those companies.

Practically speaking, nobody really cares 99% of the time. It's just something to keep in mind.

It's very possible. In fact, it's been done on numerous occasions.
Download VTF Edit, open vtf files, and export them as BMPs.
Then you just import the BMP into Wally as you would anything else.

By the way, this is technically illegal so be sure to only use it for personal use, ok? ;)

Not particularly, but I think I first noticed something was off when I watched my brother play on his PC and saw a subtle difference. I always thought it was his video card, since he was on an 8800GT and I had been using mine for a long time. But now that mine's a new 9800GT, I don't know.
If it somehow is my motherboard, there's a needed upgrade that I've been on the fence about lately.

It's just arbitrary as to when it's going to happen. And it's not choke.
