The lights.rad isn't embedded in the BSP, only its results: the lighting. All that lights.rad is used by is HLRAD.

If you're using a custom sound, you need to use a fancy program to put in "cue points". There was a thread about how to do it, search the forums.

I think so. Shame, but there you are. Try making sure your texture has "snow" in the name and use the original ma.txt, just might work.

Hmm... very odd. Do you have enforced anti-aliasing enabled on your graphics card driver settings? Those lines look suspiciously smooth, unless you've resampled the screenshot.

Fixed it but it's useless anyway. Don't run your map at the end of the compile, just open Steam normally and run the map manually. Read the tutorial on it in the beginner's section at this site if you don't know how.

Select all the brushes you want to be together and then press Ctrl+T. Bind it all to an entity and they'll be 'one thing'.

To turn a point light off, just target it. Give it a name and target it. S'about it. Target again and it'll come on, off, on, off, etc.

Well, there're cylinders. Read all the Beginner tutorials on this site or you'll never get anywhere. Really. They're worth it!

If you really want, sure, jump in at the deep end here but that's probably a bad idea. Spend a day or two getting used to mapping before you actually try to make a map for playing.
