those were just for the mappers to know how there own level was aranged. there kind of like the model support in hammer 3.5, not usefull ingame but an assistant to the mapper. there kind of just like labels for everything

those look strangely like the compile tools for HL1. its either that they are or that you don't have it using the full folder names.

~spotred should have 2 tabs after it(aka pressing tab twice before typeing in the numbers)

if you did do that then you either are not using Zoners Half-life compile tools, or have an error in your map the prevents Rad from running and calculating the lights

you have to register your HL1 cd key with steam. then it will copy all the files from your old directory to steam. and that should be the end of that program

it might not work with a func_wall. and a func_wall will only be visible from a cirtain angle. make a sprite(grey not red). put it into hammer and have it start off. and make sure its set to render as an additive with a render amount to make it semi-trasparent and a color to make it red.

Are you trying to set up hammer 4.0 for Op4. Or are you trying to set up Op4 in hammer 3.4 or 3.5. becaue your trhread title leaves that to be confused.

well, the best solutions I can offer are to make sure you have the correct FDG file loaded into hammer, make sure your mapes are being put in HalflifeGearboxmaps(or Gearboxvalvemaps can't exactly remember which)

and try not to run it thorugh the compile program. tick the 'do not run game' flag at the compile window. then open of Op4 with the console enabled and type in 'map yourmapnamehere'

zooyorkbmxer, have you tried:

-checking for problems in hammer(ctrl+p)?
-making sure you have an info_player_deathmatch in your map?
-checking to see if everything is put in the right directory?

and if none of those work I would sujust you post your compile log, so we can chek it.

ah, thats just an example. you don't need to have a TFC directory.

normaly it will be aranged as so(outside steam)

im not quite sure of how it is in steam but it should be something like:

but read the tutorials on setting up hammer by clicking on the tutorials but to your left, that should help.

25k RPM! all that power, wasted at your job, the discracement! the insolence! the non-gamin useage of such power!

Its the same thing with all the good supercomputers, like the ones MIT and the millitary have. they have all that power and all they can find uses for them for are crunching numbers for weather simulations and other semi-usefull stuff. Why can no one find a reason to modify them to be able to play Half-life? or farcry. (prefferably with coding changes to enabe 32x anti-aliasing and antrophmorphic filtering). Why! Why! Why! I want to play HL? at norad on that huge screen so much!

I must remake my resolve to build the worlds best gaming rig. I just need to wait for the next time theres a seminar near me on distributed proccesing. with my level of access to used computers I can build a T3 interconected supercomputer in my basement that will replace SkyNet as the worlds dominating force, and it will entertain itself by selfprograming the worlds most advanced graphics engine. Bwahahahaha

but on a more series note.

you really don't need 25kRPM's , you really don't need even 10k. there good and all and I going to use one on my next computer(prefferably a small(34ishGig) 15000Rpm SCSi one along with a 7200RPM 400Gb if anyone knows how to set that up to work right, so ill be able to put all the highend game files on the SCSI and everything else that doesn't require a high access speed on the 400Gig)

m0p's super computer of superiority will be beaten! I will annonce it here even If im 40 when it happens!

all your problems are either becasue
A)you haven't checked your map for problems(ctrl+P)
or
b)your map is way to big for the compiler to handle.

either way you need to use zoners even if you fix those problems, the simple fact that you dont use ZHLT might be the casue of them.

giant, its not that big, not by a mile, maybe it takes up 1/20th of the grid at most, more likely 1/25 or something. and from the file Unbreakable sent me I was able to fit it around the elevator shaft so that by adding a stairwell you get to my part. but unbreakables part crashes for some reason, as I said before.

Unbreakable, I looked at your part again, the version I was sent anyway. It accually looks like it was compiled then decompiled again, or that when it got zipped some of the brushes got resized permenantly, its stange. do you want me to send it to you to see if something happend to it in transit.

And bratty, I had to redem my self after what happend to twhlmix #1. thats why my map turned out how it did with the seqquence of events and all. and to people who remember my part('s, my part and the hackjob ending that everybody misinterpreted with out the custom sounds) its not a remake of it.

and about your reqest ofr more people, id gladly go again and make a boss fightish encounter with the event in the lobby of my map, I had a great Idea for that, but I had already guessed that I had overstayed my time(and room) limit.

and I know you are going to tell me just to wait for the file to upload, I did that, it says the file was uploaded but it just won't send the message with the attachment. I tried to send it to an old account and it didn't work. but it did if there wasn't an attachment.

A young girl finds a pearl in a nearby river, she reaches in and keeps it to herself and does not show anyone. However, the pearl in her pocket turns black when she talks to a boy she likes, but turns pink when a boy that likes her talks to her. When they both talk to her, the pearl changes blue. When she gets hurt while playing, the pearl turns red. One day the two boys were both talking to her and the pearl was speckled with each color. Explain what might happen in detail.
The pearl, having many layers, and hence many microfractures can become a scalar interferometer. The brain, becasue of its many folds and two halfs is also one. scalar waves are produced in the brain by cascade electrical discharges that very in area and intensity from situation to situation. becasue of the reactions that would be expectecd in all said situations, the body would emit some amount of swet. this swet would provide a small path for the electrical dischare coming through the nervous system to get to the pearl. when it travels through the pearl it would create scalar waves  similar to thoughs produced in the brain(either the girl's or the boy's.) when the waves emited by the pearl and thoughs emited by the brain meet they pair couple into ordinary EM waves.
these waves will vary in wavelengh, and hence in color, based on the original wave produced by the brain, which is determind by the area and amplitude of the cascade discharge in it. the EM energy created by the pair coupling would result in the pearls color. the specled color would result when all three brains were undergoing different situations and hence emiting different waves. when any that hit the pearls outgoing rays they created thier color, but becasue of the presence of the other waves and their colors, some of the EM energy canceld itself out. creating places of colors and places of non-color.
Is that a satifying answer. and if you think any of what I said is bullshit look it up on google. what I thoguht up might not be true but it is based on the basic rules of scalar wave interference.
