That's awesome.
No i do mean south. I have claimed the south of that island.
If it helps, i'll build a wall next time I'm online
Ah, misread your post. The islands yours. Just moved out with my cat. He wouldn't follow my boats so your bridge was most useful. :D

Well, all in all yesterday I had two incidents in the wee hours. Had to go afk very quickly and never logged out. Lost a full set of iron armour and a diamond pickaxe, shovel and sword. Managed to get myself another set of iron tools to replace the diamond ones.

Honestly, losing my diamond stuff was my fault so I've come to terms with that, but having nothing left but wood and stone after the midgets is a bit of a pisser.

The spawn is well lit but I think it needs fencing off too.

Whoever came up with those midget zombies needs a good punch in the dick. Went over to the spawn area to trade, got ganked by two of them while shopping. Got back there from home and all my stuff had gone.

Raged.

My first world ever, before beds were added, I died a number of times and got taken back to the spawn point. This forced me to start from scratch each time. After a while I went exploring and found a couple of my old hidey holes.

The 2008 version relied heavily on submerged.wad which we eventually phased out. The room was gradually gutted over the course of a year to what became the 2012 version shown here, but I never really did anything more with it.

Been a while since I put anything in here. :)

This is the "briefing" room seen at the start of The Core. This picture just shows the various changes it's been through. There was a stage prior to 2008 which isn't really worth seeing. :P

Real men SNORT their weed.

THE NUNCIUS

In a bold and frankly bizarre political update, in stark contrast to the original views of it's people, the growth, production and drinking of English Tea has been outlawed throughout Urbania.

All Tea plantations are to be razed over the course of the next year. Coffee and Cocoa plantations will take their place within 3 years.

On the natural front, the rare Urbanian Tiger is dangerously close to total extinction due to heavy deforestation around the largest settlements.

Urbania
Discovered by traveling tea merchants seeking out Viagoria, Urbania's capitol city, Morrisport, was nothing more than a shanty town comprised of the remnants of the ships the population arrived on. After two centuries, contact was made with the people of Viagoria, whose welcoming (and bordering onthe nympho-maniacal) greetings lead to a 300% population spike in just five years.

Chief export
With tea supplies running short, new plantations were founded, growing a more potent and much more appealing crop. Only thirty years after it's accidental founding, Urbania now boasts the largest and most varied coffee market in the world.

Other exports
Following a population crisis from consistent contact with the Viagorian population to the south, it also produces an abnormally large amount on contraceptives.

Actually, Urby, I believe the transparency will still work on WON HL, seeming as how the only thing that was updated was the hw.dll and sw.dll, so quite literally, you could just drop those in and they would work just fine as far as I know.
Maybe. Either way, The Core will not run on WON.

How exactly is Steam HL a poor port? The engine was updated to support transparency on models which makes it excellent for using the new HD models available.

All I know is The Core won't run on WON HL and we have no intention of working on a way to make it. Same reason we don't support IE6 at work when building websites. It's outdated.

Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth. -Oscar Wilde

I like to think I'm usually friendly and approachable online, not the brightest spark but never abusing my anonymity, because I think I AM a friendly and approachable guy in real life. Some of you may not agree, but your feelings towards me as a TWHL member will pretty much be identical to how you would feel about me in person. I'm fairly open online. More than I should be probably. Some of you may have seen my video blogs on YouTube and noticed that I'm exactly the same way there as I am here, or anywhere else I happen to post.

TWHL used to be full of friendly and respectable users, who posted helpful comments. Of course, some were opinionated and biased but at the same time considerate and open-minded, all regardless of anonymity. Some of these people have moved on, some have become good friends.

I certainly never had to block any TWHL users on Steam three or four years ago, but it's something I have had to do more frequently recently. Sadly, a person who acts like a complete cunt on one website is likely to act like a complete cunt on any other website because they are, in fact, a complete cunt.

So...

Farewell TWHL
I'd leave my mask at the door, but I never brought one.

Creepers only explode when you get too close to them. They don't just run up and explode randomly.

I know you can build snowman sentries but I think they work in snowy areas. Otherwise you can build a moat or a trap to stop them getting to your house. Or tame a cat. Creepers are scared of cats.

Not kidding.

Despite loving Silent Assassin and Blood Money, I could never get into the original Hitman. It was finding its feet and was a little too rough around the edges, lacking the polish of later titles (not including Contracts or Absolution)

Blood Money is still the best in the series in my opinion.

Finally got Dishonored with my Christmas money, as well as the new XCOM having enjoyed the demo.

Dishonored

I'm only an hour or so into it so far, but... I'm not entirely sure if I like it. I'm a ham fisted, hefty bloke and my strategic thinking leaves much to be desired. I'm going to keep playing because I haven't even done my first assassination yet. Just been spotted a lot and had a lot of sword fights. :|

Cake displays

Well, firstly cakes are the best thing ever. Secondly, to ability to see things is pretty crucial in life, and what better way is there to make something visible than putting it on display?

So a display of cake is a gift for both the eyes and the bellies.

Yeah, cake displays are pretty bitchin'

Got gifted Spec Ops: The Line and started playing that yesterday. It utterly wreaks of console so the control system is fucked and is the cause of death at least 90% of the time.

Facebook

A pointless exercise which is just fancy packaging for a series of really shit flash games. Facebook and all other social networking sites actually make people less sociable in the real world. Meeting a new person these days generally means learning their name, a brief outline of what they do and then finding them on facebook, even though you will probably never use facebook to learn anything about them other than their current status update.

It's all the worse for making me realise just how stupid people there are on this planet.

I only ever use it to respond to my mother because she insists on contacting me ONLY via facebook messaging and I wish she would pack it the fuck in.
