You can't anymore, VALVe has removed this option.

The entity is weapon_x but it will be removed when a game is started so it's fairly useless.

I find it a good experience, as well.

I just don't like VALVe's new direction, in that case, IMHO the gravgun fights are too forced and confined to a few areas - Like the shower room, in other areas it's just easier to mow people down with a shottie or ar2, as the connectivity areas are too much of a risk to bring physobjects thru as they get stuck on doorways, and the smaller ones don't do any damage, really :< - I liked the old fights in Crossfire with the shotgun and the crossbow...I guess I just miss good old HLDM.

It's got as much atmosphere as the HL2 single-player as evident in the brilliant level design but the gameplay could use a bit of improvement - I assume the contest entry maps and the Slam and Stunstick shall fix that.

CS has atmosphere, as well, if you're playing a quality map.

I agree, though, a bit, it just doesn't have that...feel...that HLDM/OP4DM had, really :(

in flipping textures is it possible? Post #88657
All you have to do is set your texture scale to a negative value. In this case, just set whatever your X scale is to it's negative counterpart.

As for it opening a specific way, you can move the door's origin, the little purple circle, to either side (in a 2d view) to define where the hinge point is - The center of the origin is what rotating objects pivot upon.

It's probably because it's running the game post-compile? That sometimes causes this error. Run your map manually.

You may want to delete the ain file as well, but all you need to delete is the nav and ain, nothing else - Deleting everything with your mapname is a pretty bad idea, as you'll delete the BSP in teh process - It depends if you're deleting pre-compile or post-compile, I suppose.

It's going to be down for a while, Oktagone is broken (suprise, suprise) and I think they hosted him.

Instead, refer to this page: http://www.valve-erc.com/content/resources/zhlt/ZHLTProblems.html
The 'missing [ in texturedef' message can be caused several ways:
* One or more faces has no texture, or the texturename is just made up of spaces. Check for problems in WC 3.3 should detect them as 'invalid texture' messages.
* The texture name on one or more faces has a space in the middle of the name somehow (Textures are not allowed to have spaces in their names)
* You are using Worldcraft 2.0 or 2.1, and the worldspawn has a key/value of "mapversion" "220" If so, remove it.
* A Worldcraft 3.3 map was imported into WC 2.1 or 2.2, same problem as above.
* A Worldcraft 3.3 map was imported into Quark, also the same problem :)
* The map is in Worldcraft 3.3's .map format, but the "mapversion" "220" is MISSING from the worldspawn (this is really rare).
Run a check for problems (Alt-P) and fix those errors, if any show up, then refer to the additional possible causes.

No-av people have the no-av thing in their profile, but not as their icon in the forum, where it is blank.

You should take the map from counter-strike sourcecstrikemaps. The server, if it is dedicated, needs to have a copy in source dedicated servercstrikemaps.

point_lightspot (should be point_spotlight?) is for creating the little sprites beneath spotlights. They used this in a lot of the Ravenholm sections.

vol_light.mdl :P

Toss it on a no-collision prop_static and enjoy.

There is one downfall to it - The length can't be changed. Thus, with a bit of experimentation and looking at that dm_depot map for hours, I've devised a way to create old, HL-ly volumetric light which doesn't use a model and is thus customizable.

It involves creating a thin, one or two unit brush and making it cover where you want the light, to be viewed from the side (not a big 'volume' like teh HL light was, and clipping may be necessary) then applying a sprite texture, stretching it so it looks like a beam, and tying to func_illusionary.

Teh problem is that the server has a different map than the clients, and it's not allowing downloads - OR - the server is running a different protocol of CSS or DS which is unlikely, unless it's a pirate version server.
