Yay! Official build 0.00001 of my map done! WOW! And noone can play it yet cos they need to wait for 0.55555555. I have kept track of my mapping time on it. Total time = 17hrs. Still not done!
You mean the SDK? You should really learn C++ before trying this sort of thing. Also, you will need to make a modified HUD. And LOADS AND LOADS OF HARD WORK! I have coded a few succsful weapons in my time. What did you have in mind? I might be able to fix some weapons up for ya. I will use the models from the mod of your choice and the sounds and I will mod the hud. It should be accurate handling and power to the mod. BUT, there is a catch. The code will say written by MoP all over it. The HUD will have a little box saying "Weapons coded by m0p" as well. No not really. But if I have time I will do the weapons for ya! I am so kind!
MCYORIAN, nice avatar. I got a prefab of a modded pc in the vault if you want to use it. No copyright as long as you put my name in the credits of your map! It is slightly out of scale, but you can fix that if you read the basic tutorials.
Well, I'm working on an HLDM map (hmm, now come to think of it, maybe not. It has quite big r_speeds.) and it has loads of detail. I have spent all day on it so far. So am I now. It will be in the unfinished section in a few weeks.
My first map released map was Nuclear Core beta and I can't be bothered to post a link to it. I had made maps before that. One map in particular was good architecture and bad texturing. It didn't have any entities apart from a weapon, ammo, info_player_start and a headcrab.

I use WindowBlinds and I made my own theme! w00t! Every image has been made by me (yes, all 100+ of them) and took a week. Also, I store rmf files on my desktop and I have loads of junk files from when I compile it (.max, .p1 .pts .lin and stuff). BUT, I have a huge resoloution so it don't take up much space.

Play your map, bring down the console and type /pointfile ! This should make loads of little particles. Also, to make it more visible, type /particles 1000000 (dunno if that is the command though). Then, type /noclip and fly around following the dots. Once you have found it, locate it in Hammer and solve it!
Get ZHLT GUI. I used to use it. It has loads of options, you can create theme for it, it is very easy to use, includes a RAD file editor, has loads of options and comes with a copy of MHLT 1.7 (Zoners 2.5.3 Custom Build 1.7).
Seventh, I'm not sure if it sucks, never tried it. BUT, I think the CD version isn't the final. I know someone with it and it is slightly less "complete" feel to it than the DVD version. Dunno why.

No, it's env_sprites over a info_teleport_destination. All of the aliens have wait_till_seen ticked. And it is a ambient_generics for sounds. All ties into one nice multi_manager.
