I've been raping my CPU at something like 70c for three and a half years now. I'm a lazy shit and I built the computer myself with very limited knowledge. The side panel case fan started making annoying noises so I disconnected it, and haven't compensated for it. Computer is still holding me up a bit, with game loading times, but once in, the FPS is damn good, I always assumed I had a bit of a bottleneck because I have 1gb of memory with 1gb of video memory, but who knows, maybe my CPU has been degraded from constant high temps.
Makes me happy to be honest, who can't afford 'em anyway, you're all clearly paying your utility + internet bills, or have someone paying them for you, and as for money "lying" around, who pays with cash on the internet? (maybe I took that a tad literally?)

Oh, Strideh, I have to use UDK for uni, so I'm all for it! The editor needs some serious tweaking though, in my opinion. Sadly it ran smoothly on my old Nvidia GPU, but since that bombed out, and upgrading to the ATi HD5870, it started to run like shit in terms of FPS, so it also has some annoying support problems which I couldn't get any help for at the official forum.
But it's such a wonderfully optimised and stunning engine, it has so much potential for amateur developers and would definitely be a great way to attract new members if we could actually get some good tutes and what not for it. Who knows, I might end up helping.

The conversion to video only works in source games.You mean the picture printer? It works in goldsource. Then just use videomach to compile it. You need to record a demo first to use it though. "record demoname"

I probably spat into it.
Huntey, I doubt it could be the slot, you should have seen some of the artifacts I was getting, as far as the uniform ones go some buttons in games had perfectly sized star over them, loading bars were replaced with smiley faces taken from the games GUI, pictures where stretched and tiled all over the screen plus a host of your regular triangles, black shit, fuzzies and crap.

So I have a feeling my graphics card is going to die very very soon. Loads of artifacts in games, literally rendering them unplayable, and constantly freezes, and now it's starting to happen in my web browser too. I have had an artifact issue with the card for about a year now, it displays green dots pixels that should be dark, and they ghost without removal, unless the window is minimized, but today it has taken it huge leap.
I'm not very good with computers despite how much I use them. So please excuse my ignorance.
Can I confirm this is my GPU?
What's a good cheap card? I'd like it to be better than this one (8800GTS 640mb)I know I have no other option really than to buy a new card.
