Well, I totally forgot about this post.. but anyways, If you'd check some of the comments on some of my posted maps.. you will see how it gets effected.. such as, some peoples computers, my map seems fullbright, or barney won't appear in there hl (example map "Advanced reflections")
It's wierd, its not just the Rspeeds

Multimanager--> (I know I had trouble with it at first..)
Ok

Get a multi manager in your map.
Click on the entity, alt-enter.
name it "multi1"
Click "Smart Edit" off.
click add.
now Type in your target in the first blank. (targetname.. lampshade)
now in the second blank. type in the time you want it to trigger at.
(maybe 3. for 3secs after the multi was triggered.)
and there you have it.
You can also add more than one to trigger.

Ya guys, just wanted to know why the hell is it when I make a map, and post it, some sequences, wont work, or it will appear fullbright.. etc. on others computers.

Would'nt this effect a mod dramatically???

Ya sure Spirit is just new options thats it... If I wanted to make a bullet-time effect in Spirit, and you tried loading it with the hl.dll.. you would get a can't initiate change_cvar entity error.

If I where you though, i'd get Spirit. Exact same as what your use to, with more options...
So yes its absolutly recognizable!

in the meantime guys for those who are waiting, should make a folder called Twhlmix2 In your hammer/maps directory, and start mapping prefabs, or anything that you might use. This way when it comes your turn to map, you won't have to waste time creating pipes or sequences..

This way, it will go faster. ;)

I have a Proposal:

I think we should do this for spirit. Because people not using spirit--well, so what... but those who are could add some cool effects.. this way it would be more of a mix... Like using MotionBlur, and Bullet-Time, in some areas.

It would also make this alot more attractive to others.. once finished.

Yep I have Spirit... I won't map without it.
I tryed the reflective water as well, but does'nt work well.
Motionblur.. I have'nt tried...
it's probably a cool effect.

Here do this... Make 4 Square (solid) boxs over your map so your map is completely covered, then delete one box. Try compiling. If it says theres a leak... Click undo to make the box reappear(within this box is where your leak is) Delete the other three boxs, and compile. There shouldn't be any leaks (since its covered within the 1st box)

Now make this box a little smaller and compile.... if you still don't have any leaks then, you know the area you uncovered is'nt where your leak is. Make the box even smaller, covering less of your map..
Continue this until you have a very small block. Delete the block and there.. you found your leak! :P

I got a brand new computer.. but it does't support it..
and if a compo for HL2 is started then that would exclude about

What did you name the sentence line for test.wav?
ex

HGRUNT_IDLE "speak"

If you wanted to use this,

Then in Hammer Instead of writing HGRUNT_IDLE(to be spoken) you would simple put a "!" in front of it--

HGRUNT_IDLE now becomes
!HGRUNT_IDLE,

The ! tells the engine to look in the Sentences.txt file.

Well, while where waiting for G-man to reply, I thought I'd ask a question, How many bsp's are there going to be, are we keeping the bsp sizes big? equaling how many bsps? (Approximatley)

Oh and I just wanted you guys too know that I will be using the spirit.dll, however I will not be using the extra options, such as changing cvar, or any of the new entities in hammer. This way it will not effect the bsp to be run with the hl.dll (....I also renamed the spirit.dll to hl.dll so it will not search for the spirit.dll)
Is that ok....

Its just that I replaced the hl.dll with the spirit.dll, without making a backup, and I don't know where the original dll went.
