I remember getting really pissed in this mod at one point. I went through some long fight with a bunch of hunters, waited ages for this elevator to come down, and when I got into it, it drove through me and killed me

Technically, you should stop being so technical.
A masterpiece has truly been created here. Everything in each level looked amazing, from wide open areas, to even the smallest indoor area, it all looked astonishing. And it's not just the brushwork and amount of detail that's amazing, the atmosphere is always great, and there is always ambience. To top it all up, there are also a load of awesome scripted sequences (Like snipers shooting crows for fun, zombies trying to break down windows), and the game-play is actually quite good too!
This mod does not dissapoint at all, in fact it actually exceeded my expectations which were quite high.

I'm making a city area in source-ep2, this is what it looks like so far:
It's called 'resistance city', the idea being that it's a large city full of resistance fighters, with their headquarters located within this city, it's a zone where people can seek refuge from the combine. However with that being so, it's also constantly under siege by the combine.
I'm planning to make a mod taking place within this city, basically you will be a survivor, a member of the resistance, and you will start off doing small tasks in the city, but eventually you will be forced to fight against waves of combine forces trying to claim the city, it will basically be a war zone.
I can't make all that by myself, It wouldn't be a massive mod, but If I'd commit to the project, I'd probably need other people to help with some additional mapping and NPC scripting. Not sure if any of you would be interested in that, if yes then give me a shout.

This guy used a P90 assault rifle. It has a magazine that holds 50 rounds.My thoughts exactly. One thing I don't understand is how American law can be so fucked up that it allows people to purchase assault rifles for self protection. I can some what understand allowing a small hand-gun, but a fucking P90 Assault rifle? To protect you from what? King Kong? Fucking Santaclaus and his army of evil gnomes? Ah ok, well I was going through the process of exporting models from 3ds max to source, and adding textures to them, and that looked like rocket science to me.
Uuugh, I would love to do this but going on a holiday in 4 days, plus I haven't gotten around to learning how to import textures to source yet

Urby your maps are looking quite nice, but maybe you should consider moving onto Source... maybe after you've finished this project of yours.
I am going with the i5 3570k. This CPU is 80-100 pounds cheaper than a 3770k and 3820, and slightly worse in normal mode, but when all three are overclocked, 3570k destroys the 3820, and is 10% better than 3770k. Plus it's cooler and needs less power, so it has some amazing overclocking potential. 100 less pounds plus higher overclock performance makes it so much greater value for money. I'll just get one good cpu cooling fan and all is good.

Coolio striker, I was wondering, Can I get like a cheap small SSD 40-60GB to hold all the system files (So system runs fast), and also install a 500GB Western Digital HDD to hold all my other files? Would that work?

I estimate I'll end up spending no more than £700 on this amazing system

Here's a question, if the processor comes with an intel integrated graphics card, will that graphics card work together with my high-end gpu to improve performance further, or will it just idle around while my graphics card does all the work? ...and so is it a bad idea to buy a good processor that also has an integrated card? Would it be better to buy a processor without an integrated card since I'm buying a high end gpu?

About the hdd, can someone explain to me the importance of a good hdd in a powerful system? Are those brandnew fancy expensive drives worth it?
Finally the ram, What is the difference between 1333mHz, 1600, 1866, 2133? I mean, obviously the higher the mHz the better the chip, but is it worth spending extra money on lets say 8GB of 2133mHz ram when 8GB of 1333mhz is much cheaper?
Also, how much ram should my pc have? Is something like 16gb in 4x chips enough?
