It looks to me like you're using parts of two different models, but it might just be a modelling naming convention of which I'm unaware. Ask pepper, he's an HL modeller.

Well, my friend with an XT does get noticably better framerates, but it's not a massive difference in general, I don't believe. If you want to run at high resolutions with anti-aliasing, a 256MB XT would probably be good. Just get the best you can afford.

I think the 800MHz may refer to the motherboard-CPU connection speed. I can't see a budget anywhere so far?
