Ok I know how these work but I have many problems with these, Like ok, I've got sven coop, and I want to tke the sniper rifle from that mod(sven) so I take all the sniper files ind put them in the Valve/Models/Sniper(newfolder)/ file, now when I use the monster_generic to spawn this weapon it does, but I can't pick it up and use it, Plus the invisible monster_generic is solid, so I can't Even walk/jump, over the rifle, It sticks, can somebody please help.

..some are easy some aren't, as I soon found out when I decided to make a garage door, I wan't three garage doors to go up and in, and rotate(like a normal garage door)at which three tanks would roll out of the big three door garage. But I can't get the settings right, this is my first problem with doors, can someone help me, with the settings???

omg, I never realized the coordinates, I totally forgot, I use to have the hardest time getting the landmarks in there exact positions, never even thought of looking at the coordinates.. Thanks guys for helping me with an unknown problem.

I love TFC so much better then counter-strike(please don't shoot) I hate the idea of purchasing weapons, in cs. I love the tfc maps and classes, Its sooo much better, does anybody agree with me???

And take out some of those wad files, I know for a fact your not going to use them all, Some of them only have like 5 or 6 textures, that are no good, like the font.wad and cache.wad.

Ok I've had this problem for the longest time...

When Ever I use a texture (effects mostly Texture with writing ex. the Black Mesa Research Facility) I put it onto a brush(obviously) and the text is backwords, but when I look on the other side of the brush it appears that the text is correct, which is cool, but not when the opposing side (backwords texture side) is the side everyone will be seeing. This problem really sucks, I usually end up opening the ccopying and pasting the texture in Paintbrush, flipping it around, then putting it into wally to make a knew texture... Which now Im getting into my next problem, When I try to put the newly made texture into the Half-Life.wad file, It goes in fine, Until I go to save it, but it does
not save, so I end up making a new wad file which sucks when I only use 8 wad files at a time. This doesn't just happen with The Half-Life.wad file, it happens with all the wad files, which pisses me off most when I go to edit my custom wad file, I have one texture in my custom wad file, and have 19 others(saved as bitmaps) that I can't put in, because I can't resave the wad file... So if anyone ran into the same problem and/or knows how to fix this, than thanks, Its not as complicated as it sounds, but too complicated for me not to know what the hell Im going to do..

Well thats not going to work, I have tried many things Like
Say If I wan't to be a scientist I would open up the pack file and Scroll
down to scientist, open it, and then Save Model as player.mdl in the Valve/Models folder. Now this apparently worked out good Until the time came that I put in a Camera, When I compiled the map and triggered the camera it would close down half-Life (...Whenever I came into the camera view) So You will probably have to edit or use only the player.mdl files that can be found in only the multiplayer games.

Anyways Someone else???

No the same thing happened to me but mine involved a
Apc in a rather dark map, it worked fine until I put a Env_beam and lights so that I could make real looking headlights, and then the same too many lights on one face came up, I still have not fixed this error yet.
Sorry I couldn't help, I am what they call a bystander, hoping someone will anwser your question.

Well you can replace Sierra and Valve videos.
Just make a video thats 320x240(InJasc Animation Shop)Or if you have any other videos from other games, open them in JAS and edit it, then put it in your Mods media folder and name it Valve(or Sierra).

Yes I would say so, Try making a func_illusionary (give it volumetary light) with another brush on top with the water texture then tie it to a func_wall, with Not Solid ticked. I think this is going to be the closest your going to get, ok.

Anybody have any other Ideas?

Yes you can tie decals to another thing

When you make a decal look in your 2D views you will see a box--this is your decal, Select it and press Alt-Enter- and theres your properties,
give it a name and there you go, it will be triggered with the auto_trigger,
Trust me this works I've used this for many objects

Example, I had a door that would blow up, I fixed the properties for Target Object to the name of the scorch mark-so when you blew the door the Scorchmarks(decals)would be triggered and appear after the explosion.

This really works--plus it must be transparent so that the decal will look like a piece of paper instead of a piece of paper in an unknown block..

Try it, trust me it works.

Amagine what our maps would look like without it???
Amagine creating a door(func_breakable) to blow up,The parts would fade away and then there would be nothing. Now add some Decals of scorch marks and kabaam, there you have it. It makes everything look so much real.

How bout this, try to make a knew texture with wally, and make it a transparent, know make a decal on the table, and tie it to a trigger_auto, so when the level loads there will be your Paper(textures)
on the table, Thats as thin of papers you are going to get, and it works well.

When I make my mod is it possible to compile all my makes and put only the bsp files into my mod? Now say I was to send in my mod would others need to compile my maps, and what if I have made my own textures, Would they need the wad files? I kindof think not-- If they have the compiled bsp's. So Is it possible to have just the bsps, to run a map?

Theres a property Called

Minimal Light(or somethin')
Make sure thats at 0

(its the very last property for most)

Yes I know about the [ key, but I still have trouble with it. I read all the tutorials, and I can do most things in it easily(Landscapes, Tunnels)
but when It comes to making a simple truck, I always screw up, I end up using seperate peices.

Yes, I guess your right. I guess we need more people who knows what looks good... and what doesn't. Anyways even if they added a knew
section and call it prefabs in the map vault-- It would be great- Or members could put in there prefab- which would be voted on---These people who got the most votes(say Top10) should be the only ones creatind prefabs.. That way we would'nt get just anybody poasting garbage stuff..
It drove me insain when I downloaded the MechWarrior And the airplane
off of planethalflife--- Anyways...

No don't do that the what you selected Is what you will compile--
There should be a button in the toolbar to make this go away,
Its used for when you have a large map and don't want to compile the whole thing(takes long) insted you put your info_playerstart there and select the area you want to compile and test----At the end or the completion of your map you must do a full compile though---Read the help file in hammer/worldcraft---check for toolbars its there.
And for your problem---I'd stick with worldcraft---It rarely screws up with a problem like that...

I had had Hammer but never liked it at all--Sure some of the texture applying options and the 3d veiw is cool-but overall, I'm m,uch happier with Worldcraft.

I was thinking about an idea for this site---I think you guys should put In a kindof Prefab Lab-- Like the one at planethalflife--exept that we eneter them in--(kind of like the map Vault), because mind me saying - the prefabes at planethalflife really suck--most of them are huge and have probably millions of faces.. which really suck--

Anyways take this Idea into consideration.

And then when I move in a certain direction some faces disapear- Which

Where can I find a Liblist.gam file for TFC- which includes Neoft, medamod, and foxbot?
