I wait for the day for that quote to be proven wrong. I don't expect Bioshock to be the one to do it. :(

Read a few tutorials concerning architecture and use reference photos from google or other peoples maps in order to improve the level of detail as well. 4 walls a floor and a roof don't make a room, they make a box. Rooms have purpose. Add computer terminals, pipes, vents and even cables.

Other than that, keep doing what you're doing. :)

It already looks better than my first mod attempt :P

Also, I would like to apologize for the terrible recreations of you guys. The sims really does suck. Saints Row is much better for Character Development. :pwned:

Ok so I was gonna finish off the members and load the game up and try and get a first episode squeezed off today. (With a little friendly encouragement from a certain TWHL resident whiney bastard :P ) However it seems that the bodyshop has stopped working. I don't know why but it may be the latest expansion pack (The Sims 2 free time) that my missus bought.

Hopefully there will be a patch around somewhere to fix it. I'll let you know :)

Ah.

/me feels like an idiot.

Its still a nice effect but seeing your take on it would be pretty cool. I think the fact that most of the massive destruction scenes were scripted is pretty lame but at the same time I'm kinda glad. I only have a 3.4 single core processor and dynamic physics on that scale would have made my PC bleed.

Post it!

Wait, there was a portal storm in Ep2?

I don't think so. There was the combine "Mass portal" but I don't think that was a storm. The storms can be seen on a newspaper clipping in Eli's lab at Black Mesa East (HL2) and the entire sky is dark and there's green bolts of lightning and all that shit. Thats what brought all the Xen creatures to Earth.

As far as I know the portal in Ep2 was created after the Citidel's destruction and was a direct link to the combine homeworld. Overall I thought it was a decent effect.

This week is CrazyWeek! Tosse has made his way into the UK (somehow) and has decided to take refuge in my home. This is in fact, rather awesome.

So, be sure to check out youtube and this thread for updates on just how rat-arsed we get.

Tosse says: Keep in mind that all our posts during this week (ending 15.3.08) will be posted while drunk! :plastered:

Therefore... something.... ah fuck it. Have some pics.

Inspect floor is an idle sequence so make sure that the animation name is the the 'idle_sequence' field it has the 'no interrupt' flag checked and it will need to be triggered at the start of the map by some means.

On that note, I believe the construct.mdl 'inspect_floor' animation is bugged. In the model viewer he seems to slide around while the animation plays. :rly:

That does deserve some thought but the vortigaunts are aware of the Gman and can overpower him. (Ep1 intro)

In that sense, they would know who he was right? To effectively overcome something requires active knowledge of how it functions.

Maybe the vorts were in league with the G-Man in the same sense that Gordon was?
