just go to the folder where your maps are stored. (usually the Valve Hammer editor >> maps folder) right click the rmf, then hit send to compressed (zipped) folder.

If it is an invalid texture, the check for problems thing should get it.
Unless the wads arent in the CS folder, and its just not telling you

when you compile, go to expert mode (check the tab) and in the $csg part put in

"-wadinclude wadname"

where wadname is the name of the wad you're using and leave out the quotes.
Do this for all your wads, and the compiler will include all the textures used from the wads (not the entire wad).

If it's a texture error, that might solve it.
Are you using any custom textures? Did you try to validate the game cache on steam?
RE-install CS? (shouuldnt have to if other maps work)

are you using the right .fgd?

Did you try a restart?
Or... copy+paste everything in your map into a new one and compile the new map like that. (works sometimes with odd problems.. couldn't hurt to try)

There's no leak, so says the compile log. There's no other errors that you're receiving.

Did you make suer all the entities you wanted to get rid of are actually gone?
Go to Map >> Entity report, and sort through those. Check them out see if anything is conflicting with another entity.

CS needs info_player_starts and info_player_deathmatch entities. Make sure those are in there.. looks like an escape map from the compile log. So you're going to need the escape area (not familiar with making es maps but i think its almost the same as a hostage rescue map)

I'm trying to think of everything that could've gone wrong, but this has me stumped for now. :|

Hit Alt+P to check for errors before you compile. Maybe something is in there?
EDIT - Your compile log looks fine to me.

Now you can compile properly.. But when you go to run the map with CS, it just... craps out on you?

That looks really good ghetto, but when you skybox, you render all the polygons on the outside of the map as well as the inside..

usually shoots down fps and shoots up lag

First of all, welcome to the community, second of all, its the wrong section of the forum (maps and mods is for new maps and mods in creation), but whatever.

Are you getting any errors when you go to run CS?
Does anything really stand out to you in the compile log?
Read through the log, and anything that looks.. wierd, go here and search for any problems.

If you cant find anything, post the compile log here.
And if that fails, you can upload the map to the problem vault.

You get the RMF's from decompiling the BSP's with a decompiler.

It's really shunned upon and you will be better off starting from scratch. There are loads of good tutorials floating around the site, so start there and work your way up asking for help along the way if needed.

As long as you dont use any custom content with your maps, you should be fine. Load up the CZ wads into hammer and you will be fine.

In 4 months, it really doesn't matter what you buy because something new and better will be out by then.

The hammer for source works perfectly on vista. But anyone who wants to run good old hammer 3.4 or 3.5 is out of luck i guess.

As i recently explained to Tosse, i upgraded to Vista from Xp and when one does this, it doesnt completley rid your system of Xp. So in my C drive, i have a folder called "windows.old" And within that folder, all my old program files, and even the windows system files (most of the obsolete ones anyway) reside within those.

So if there's a way to get the necessary windows files to run hammer into the windows.old folder (maybe even the OpenGL drivers or whathaveyou) one might be able to select items within the 3-D window.

Personally, i have no problems with 3-D selections, but this is the only thing i can think of to make it work for others who cant select.

Yeah. Ghetto. Walking on that terrain is going to be really shaky. Expecially with counterstrike, your crosshair is going to go nuts.
But as mentioned before, you can iron out all the bugs after you're done.
Still looking good. Nice job with the sewer pipes.

Yes. But batch compiles are tricky for the first timer.
Also... try this:

save first

start > run > tskill *

that'll kill off almost all your runnig processes (even sound so restart after the compile)

uncheck the run map after finished flag and try it out.

no... that just gets things off grid and messy
just create an entity where you want it.... on the grid... and then change the default point entity to a path_corner

and to get the exact center of something.. have the origin cover the entire object.

Decals are only one color/shade and are a pain to get right.

My advise would be to make a custom texture with transparent background.. and make a spike on the wall. have 4 edges be flush with the wall.. and have one point directly in the center about one unit out from the wall to look ok.

If you dont stare at it for too long you won't even notice. It's just going to be a minor detail right?

If you dont get it ill post a screenie but not right now..

Lunckbrek ends in 5 minutes and i gotta get back to the shop :(

Advent Children was amazing.
(I think the Halo movie got scrapped)
The mario brothers movie was decent
Hitman... I'd watch it i say. I havent played it much, but it looks cool to me.

Making textures is not my good side... i dont even have Photoshop. confused - :confused:
I've made texture sets for an ENTIRE map using MSPAINT.
Check my kitchen compo map and you can see for yourself.

Another tip.. If your r_speeds do get out of hand, just delete an adjacent triangle, and stretch the one next to it to fill the gap. I know for a fact that every single triangle is not on a different plane, so combining a couple of them should prove useful, although a bit tedious.
