Yeah, I made one just yesterday. You dont need friction entities, so there! You just need to make sure the slope is more than 45 degrees. You dont really need to be shooting while sliding, you can just make it to one of the "checkpoints" and shoot people from there.

I guess Im sort of being very generic here, but my favorite character is by far the Gman. He is the most interesting person in the game. Mysterious, in charge of strage power, and without him Gorden would be nothing. He's like a hero builder, he takes people with a glint of potential and turns them into powerful weapons. Gordon and Shepard are perfect examples of pawns that being controlled by the Gman. Like a handgun we lock in the a until dire need, he keeps his weapons locked in time until "their time comes again..."

Well surfing is keeping me more entertained than playing regular CS, and its about fun right? You cant come down on someone when they're having fun. I don't believe you even need func_frictions right?

WTF is going on? Someone is deleting replys... I stated in a later post that I was wrong, I haven't played DoD in a long time so I couldnt tell the difference.

Oh, and in case you guys dont know what surfing is, it's pretty much sliding around a huge map and catching crazy air, kinda like grinding with your feet... It's wicked fun , but Im probably gonna get bored of it real fast.

This is something I just learned about from interlopers.net, Im angry no one has told me about it before! Its really fun and I wanna know why people dont talk about it... at all...

Oh, thats simple, you just make an event "face actor" have it be !player and then just expand the length of it to fit the ammout of time you need him to face the player. If you want him to look at the player the whole time, you just make the event as long as the whole choreography is.

Ok for the end of my level, I figured I'd the gman show up and say "This is just the beginning Dr. Freeman. Until next time..." And then it would just fade out. Simple enough right? Well I recorded the MP3 file and then changed the pitch a bit (my voice is too high for the Gman...) and now I just need to get the Gman to say it. The problem is I can't figure out how to do this. I'm pretty sure I have to script something, but I really have no clue what to do. Can someone help me? All I have so far is the gman NPC, a MP3, and a trigger that wil set off the end.

Chapter 19 - The Truth is Painful

Y'ato awoke to the sound of priests chanting incantations of old. Dora maka vasekai, dora maka... It meant little to Y'ato, although he had recovered his lost memory, this was a language unused for a millennia. Y'ato was very drowsey, as if drugged. He slowly opened his eyes but they kept closing without his control, it became a massive struggle in order to stay awake. The sight he saw didn't seem worth the effort. Stone ceiling, he finally realized he was facing up. His arms were strapped to the floor, or at least, what he thought was the floor. His body felt limp and without strength, there was no way he could morph in this state. Y'ato rolled his head to the side and began to stare at a torch off in the distance, the light appeared as a line to his blurred eyes. He tried with all his might to keep his eyes on the light. If only he could stay awake, he might survive. The chanting priests we're nowhere in sight, but the words still echoed through the cavern. After some time, Y'ato had regained enough strength to roll his head to the other side. There he saw barred window; it was night, and the sky was filled with stars. After what seemed like hours, he heard a door open and close.
"Who's there?" Y'ato said in a quiet, scared voice.
"One who knows why you're here..." Replied a familiar voice.
"Nemmerle! Why are you here!?" Y'ato was so confused. "Have you come to finish me off?"
"That is your fate, is it not? Do you remember when we first met? In that white room where I asked for your help."
"Yes, and I also remember you tried to kill me!"
"That is... correct, if you look from your point of view. However, we're you in my position, you would have done the same. Your death would have made life simpler for everyone, the whole world could have continued living. Im supprised you never realized who you really we're. Seltor really did a number on you. You're his masterpiece, his ultimate weapon. He built you from the beginning, a perfect mixture of hate, strength and well... incompetence."
"What the hell are you talking about!?" Y'ato screamed, "I have nothing to do with Seltor!"
"So sadly mistaken you are. Do you remember your parents?"

Here you were to cause havoc while Seltor's elite took control of the city and ensured victory for Seltor. Even now, his warriors are infiltrating the palace, about to assassinate the king. Seltor built you into the perfect person for the prophecy, the whole city is currently in delusions of grandure. They believe you're death will show them a mythical temple where a fountain of youth is!"
"It can't be true! You must be lying! I don't believe it!!!" Y'ato tried to cosole himself but something told him it was true.
"Yes, Seltor sold you on the story of winning the war for the light morphers didnt he? My goodness, incompetence nothing, your flat out moron. The only thing that is going to stop this whole mess is you. I was lucky to morph my vital organs out of the way of the impaling spear, but I am still quite wounded because of you. I won't be able to stop the warriors myself you're going to have to clean up this mess you made.

I've come to believe this story will be entirely impossible to create in HL1 or HL2. Unless we can make thousands of models for "morphing" it'll look terrible.

Dont we have a tutorial on making light emitting textures? And arn't there thousands of them on every HL modding site?

Need someone to continue the story

This story is becoming strangely similar to Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time...

I've noticed that in many levels that I've created and some of the ones I've played, the design is pretty, well... bad. I'm just looking for tips on how to make a map look better. Of course everyone always says detail, but I want to know how the better mappers out there design their maps.
