Hmm, I can't tell whether you're joking.

The caduceus symbol is one of the most ancient symbols in human history, dating back 6,000 years to Mesopotamia.

There were snakes back then, but no airplanes.

in Ok, here goes: question, why is a LEAK bad? Post #347190
Leaks cause defects in the rendering of the compiled map, most notably in the lighting.

If your lighting improves with a leak, then you're not lighting your maps optimally. You shouldn't use a mistake to increase the overall brightness of your map; two wrongs do not make a right.

Nice! How goes the piloting, satchmo?
I'm halfway to my first solo, which is a big deal.

I've flown to three different airports so far.

I will be a commercial pilot by the end of next year.

I already have the caduceus symbol tattooed on my chest. It's an ancient symbol representing commerce, transport, and more recently, medicine.

I think you may need to add nodes to delineate the area where the sound is audible.

I don't remember exactly how to do this, since I haven't mapped for ten years.

And the last one could be the inspiration for Ravenholm.

I think you're referring to the Force. When you quote Yoda, you need to credit him properly.

Editing existing map is a good way to learn.

For example, I adapted a map from the official Half-Life 2 single player campaign into a deathmatch map in *dm_tidal*

I got "Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons" years ago, but the two-handed keyboard control daunted me so much that I gave up in frustration.

Fast forward five years. My son is now 12, and he's so much more dexterous than I am (it helps that he's actually ambidextrous, writing with his right and eating with his left). I loaded up the game for him to play, and he mastered the control within minutes.

I got to experience the game vicariously through him. I joined him toward the second half of the game, controlling the Big Brother while he controlled the Little Brother. We shared one of the most memorable gaming experience together.

Their interpretation is nothing like the original Xen, which was a barren and isolating place. I am perfectly fine with the changes they made.

It's been decades since the original HL came out, and it just makes sense to re-imagine the old concept.

Both you and the show are changing.

I actually attended E3 two years ago, the first time that the convention was opened up to the general public. It helps that it's only a 30-minute train ride away from my house.

It was interesting to be actually inside (I've been oogling outside the convention hall for years prior), but overall it was a let down. To be able to play the latest games, you have to wait in line for hours. It's basically Disneyland for geeks.

I don't feel like waiting in line, but I did meet some independent game developers. That's the highlight of my visit.

You have so much enthusiasm, and you're willing to learn from your mistakes. Those attributes can take you far.

I actually attended E3 last year, when they opened it up to public for the first time.

Finally, I was inside on the floor, but the lines to play the new games were way too long to be worth the wait.

So I attended the announcements, which was pretty cool. But the best part of the convention was talking to the independent game developers directly. They are a scrappy bunch, but they are also the most passionate about what they're doing.

I don't plan to attend this year, because the price has gone up, and I feel that I had gotten most of what I wanted from it last year already.
