My understanding is that there will never be another "version" of Windows after 10. Microsoft will just keep updating Windows 10 for eternity.

I have Win10, and so does every computer and laptop at home.

Disagreeable traits? I do possess some, but I try to be congenial whenever I am dealing with assholes.

Does that mean I have a shot of being successful?

Edward Mike Davis could be the real-life inspiration for Cave Johnson in Portal 2.

He's just as arrogant, blunt, and harsh as the head of Aperture Science.

There's nothing wrong with taking pictures near where you live.

I take a lot of pictures right inside my house. If you look carefully, you'd be surprised at what you find right in front of you.

I don't know anyone who was born an artist or programmer. Everything is learned through experience and mistakes (especially mistakes).

All these supposedly "talented" level designers got where they are by practicing their art over and over again.

Those who give up easily remain unskilled. Those with balls to continue become winners.

The architectural design and gameplay both deviated significantly from the original Half-Life, which is a good thing. It retained the original spirit of the game, but with a fresh new twist.

I am watching my son playing through it. I have to admit that he's a more skilled gamer than I was.

I attended E3 in person this year. I was there yesterday and today.

I participated in many of the panel discussion regarding behind the scene game design decisions. It was interesting to hear their perspective and their struggle during the implementation process.

Some of them were shameless pitches to the fans for their upcoming games, but many of them were insightful.

The God of War and Far Cry 5 discussions were most entertaining.

It's quite fun, if you are into exploration games.

I played the original Deus Ex when it first came out, and I made it all the way to Hong Kong. It was quite enjoyable, but work got really busy (I was a pediatric resident, working 80-100 hours a week at the time).

I never made it all the way through NOLF2. The infinite spawning system in Siberia really pissed me off. Once I killed someone, I expect him to be dead. Otherwise, the stealth gameplay and story were both top notch.

Now, when you are ready to upgrade your graphics card in the future, you'll need more wattage for your PSU.

in Hammer Not Starting Post #327716
I have not been mapping for the Source engine for a long time.

My son, now eight years old, wants to get into mapping again. Alas, when I tried to start Hammer, nothing happened. Occasionally, I get an error message. When I Googled the error message, I got nowhere.

Is this an universal problem, or is there a work around that I am unaware of?

Thanks in advance.

I used this flag when I mapped Justice, and I have seen the outcome in NPC behavior.

The NPC remains invisible until seeing the player, and engages the default AI the moment it sees the player.

The patrolling behavior needs to be specified, and it's not the default behavior to my knowledge.
