Great work Pepper! I take it you did this with blender? What technique did you use to create this? It looks like Curve loops to me. Just sort out your texture a bit more and I agree maybe add a subdivision to the wheels and you will have one great model! A nice yafray render would really sell your work!

Best way for adding scratches and such is by using layers in photoshop.
eg. 1st Layer- Base coat, I tend to use textures from places such as http://www.mayang.com/textures/

2nd Layer- The undercoat ("Paint Primer") Just create a plain coloured coat and add some grunginess and small scrated with the sponge or burn tool.

3rd Layer- Paint Layer, this is just the top layer that will be seen the most. Again add some more grunginess and then ur ready to "scratch" the surface.

Now find some good grungy brushes and erase parts of the top layer slowly working down to the next layer. Remember to take your time and get as much detail as you can get into your UV map.
Good Luck,

Try going into your C:Program FilesSteamSteamAppsyoursteamnamecounter-strike or half-life etc. and then delete a file that its name is this or something like this --------->steam_103377_2004_11_5. It worked for me!

in Hello Once Again Folks... Post #178931
Hiya dudes, dudesses and all other folk, I know these kinda posts are intensly annoying, but after a long time wondering around in the desert of what we call the world wide web I have rediscovered myself and TWHL is finally back in my bookmarks. I may call this past time, "My Nomadic Period", but in the words of great forum spammers "Im Back!!" And this time with more skills than ever before, After a great deal of time I have to a certain line, mastered the art of Modeling. This combined with my relatively mediochre mapping skills (compared to most of you guys) I will try to create my own new totally original models for use within TWHL maps. So any ideas...?

Its all created using an open source 3D App called Blender (http://blender.org/). I sort of gave up with softimage as it all cost a lot of money which I cant afford, So I decided to support Open Source which is just a capable in some places even more. Thanks for a critisms.

Use a fire input form a ambient_gen on a logic_timer and then on fire- timer- start. Then "on timer"- ambient_gen-play noise. This might not be entirely accurate but its the basic idea that is pretty much down to common sense.
