in Half life 1 - Switchable texture lights Post #106078
Thanx Monkey. I'm not from Russia (Funny, how everybody - even on the internet - thinks I'm from Russia) I'm from the Netherland, you probably know the place, Amsterdam is world famous for its large amount of 'Coffeeshops' (actually, you can buy coffee there, but most people just go there for their daily / weekly fix of weed) and of course its red light district!. I myself live in Rotterdam, the city with the largest Harbour of Europe.

Hello Everybody, i'm quite a n00b in the mapping-business, but i'm learning a lot through the tutorials on this website, so I think a big thans U is appropriate.
Currently i'm trying learn everything about texture lights in Half-Life 1, in my map (1 room actually :-) i placed an info_texlights and tried to make one of the lightfixtures in the room flicker. Making this work proved to be no problem at all, making it look good is an altogether different story though. The normal texlight look good enough, but the light emitted from the flickering texlight (ties to an func_wall) entity look realy CRAP, the light and the shadows it cast are just damn ugly.
I used the lastest compiletools en the -extra switch for HLRAD, but it still look like crap. I tried searchin on the forums, but could not find an answer to this problem. Does anybody know what to do?

Thanx, Piet.
