How about a stipulation for GoldSrc, is that Sledge must be used to create the map?
I think it's a terrible idea. Sledge is still in alpha build, and lastly I don't see the point in restraining the mapping software.

I'll make a "clean" version of the mod folder this afternoon with the proper bare bones without any kind of junk/useless files (unless Tetsu0 disagree and tell me to not do it).

Yes, I already put them in the mod folder. So I don't know what causes it. But yeah, if I don't load a map, it quits fine.
Anyway, I added the missing files to the drive.
Would be cool if you join Shepard! Yeah the rules are 1 map with a goal, an entry teleporter and a exit teleporter of any kind.

I've got a small oddity: each time I quit the mod, Windows displays an error message (HL has stopped working). It doesn't prevent anything from working but still, how can we fix that? I don't think it's caused by my map…

  • The scientists urging the player to find a way to go home are the scientists with the player (and not the scientists still in Black Mesa)?
  • We must agree on the number of Barneys and scientists, as well as their skin if they'll be on each map.

You're talking about SOHL. Why not Sven Co-Op? It would be great to play together on a map we created together! Moreover, this mod's future is quite promising. And SVen Co-op is very easy to handle as far as I know.

"This almost makes me think of Startgate now. " I made a Stargate map with a working stargate, it could be an interesting way of of leading the player to each member's map.

Well, talking about the Goldsource community in general, I'd wager it will still last plenty of decades: There are still die-hard fans of the Amiga, so we do have a margin! Moreover, I think that game's technologies have less and less room for improvement for 2 or 3 years, so people sticking with Goldsource now will not have a reason to leave it in the upcoming years.

Oddly enough it seems nobody talked about the fact you can't see you're logged in, as well as if you have new messages, apart if you're on the front page (but still, you can't see your username).
Also, if you close a TWHL window in which you're writing something, there wouldn't be any confirmation message.

You might want to kill me since it looks like I'm the only person loving this website's design, but it's neat, responsive, sober, perfectly adjusted :3
However, I think I prefer the current design for the HL theme. It's orange and retro, and I find it really more pleasant to use than modern responsive/bright websites like you one you posted.

i have a problem
my sprite is well oriented with the properties in hammer the problem is that it is always at angle zero oriented in the game.
in Hammer however it appears to work normally, well faced
i run hammer 3 5 3 and hl won
i already tried sprite fixer
the problem comes not from the sprite but from the orientation in the game
in the y axis I can change the sprite orientation in the game but when i change the value of the x axis in hammer my sprite is anyways facing angle zero in the game.
i can eventually talk

But, I have "NoUserControl" as a flag if I remind good. And I learned that I would must create a aaatriger "func_traincontrols" to make the train controlable.

Hello all
I have currently a problem I didn't manage to solve.
I created a train, but when he appears he is rotated in the y axe.
I already tried to rotate the train in Hammer but it make the thing worse.
The main problem is that even if I can create the train so he is in the right position, I can't find the aaatrigger traincontrol.

Do you know how to fix this problem?

Xawari, you can use Steam wihtout Internet connection.
The source code engine is closed, but on the other hand, they offer a great SDK now available updated on Steam. And the greelight system is just really good!
And if I'm not wrong, it seem's steam compells drivers companies to make their drivers available on Linux.

I think that Goldsource modders are too scattered. That's why I created a group to gather the community of Goldsource's modders, to share our experience, news and to meet other modders.
I try to invit as many as possible Goldsource modders with this aim. If you want, you can join the group here.
If you do, please suscribe to the forum here
Suscribing is very important, otherwise it has almost no sense to jon the group. It will allow you to be warned when news topics are created in the group forum, and therefore Goldsource modders will communicate easily (it is difficult to check manually a steam forum)!
Making a presentation thread would be also good, but if you want.

I have Trinity and no OpenGL.dll. Trinity don't seems to need other files than the ones in his mod folder. That's one of his advantages about Paranoia.

Well, my problem is with the func_train. But there's no problems, I will see it seriously later.
I have actually an other big problem: To allow my train to have movable doors, I use two func_tracktrain who are syncrhonised by doing the same path at the same time, so we don't see there's in fact two func_tracktrain. But in multiplayer, it doens't work: The func_tracktrain aren't synchronised, they have every time a difference in their position.
Is there a command to make the func_tracktrain as in singleplayer?

I recently tested on Steam my underground map who worked perfectly before on Won.
I have a func_train wich supposed to teleport to an another path_corner but it doesn't work.
Do Steam has a difference with Won on this point?

Yes, I thunk also to a steam group, we can do both. Steam is usefull to communicate, but nobody read the news on a steam group I think.
There's already a GS modders steam group, I will see if I can reuse it.

Hi,
Because there's a lot of Goldsource modders who are alones or strewned on some communities, I think that it would be a nice idea to create for example a Facebook group to overcome the lack of communication beetween the Goldsource modders.
A Facebook group has several advantages: notifications and mail notifications for non-Facebook addicts, simple way of communicate and get informed, and also a lot of people have already Facebook.
What do you think about it? It would be really practice, for example, to get help, to chat, to get informed of news softwares or mods, etc.
